This is Keaton’s film to carry every step of the way, and he turns in a typically fine and layered performance as a man who might find relief in the loss of his memories, given all the dark acts he’s committed.

It really all depends on Keaton giving a serviceable performance to salvage whatever is left, but even he falls short.

Knox Goes Away” may take place in the noir capital that is L.A., but it could just as easily be Anywheresville.

With a contrived plot, sluggish rhythm, and unengaging performances, Knox Goes Away ends up being a rather perplexing endeavor.

Knox Goes Away is an exemplary crime drama that looks at old cliches with a fresh slant and gives a reliable but still surprising star a chance to demonstrate the range and depth of character he rarely gets the chance to explore.

While the film does not offer any innovation to the genre, Keaton's magnetism and Al Pacino's performance manage to give it a perspective that exceeds initial expectations. [Full review in Spanish]

There’s an aimless quality to the story’s flow that turns a lot of Knox Goes Away into a bit of an indiscernible blur ... Still, that ending absolutely elevates it to a point where I can say I’m glad I saw the film.
