Kevin Sorbo…blames everyone and everything other than his complete and utter lack of talent as it pertains to any and all aspects of film making. And what the hell was a fine actor like Neal McDonough thinking when he took this job?? Did you lose a bet,Neal?

I was skeptical about another LEFT BEHIND movie, but this one was a well-written update of the 30-year-old book. We now have the technology for everything written about the tribulation period mentioned in the Bible, and I enjoyed seeing that included. A couple of the scenes I expected to see were left out, and I was disappointed that this began 6 months after the Rapture, but it was still a good storyline after they finally got us caught up with various characters. A couple of the actors were little more than mediocre, but there were several big names in this film who brought the level up overall. It did leave me hoping they make the sequel.

This will probably be the closest to a critic review you will find on this movie. The movie is very much so all over the place with some plot lines being surprisingly interesting while others leave you wondering what the writers were drinking the night before when they came up with their ideas. The "doubting daughter" story being particularly boring and some scenes being downright offensive. The villain is also shockingly underused and it is truly disappointing when they had a genuinely interesting idea. Something else that could be considered good or bad is that this movie is essentially an End of the world/Mission Impossible/Faith movie all rolled into one. Sometimes this works well, other times definitely not. Also not a huge deal, but all of the jokes fell totally flat and should never have been included in a movie that is trying to be so serious. However, despite all the obvious flaws, I was quite impressed when the credits rolled, due to the fact that even though this movie easily could have been awful, (some) of the creators actually seemed to care about the film that they were making, and wanted to send a message that they thought that the world needed to hear, which while cheesy at times, can still be affective at others. Everything with the "Buck" character was unexpectedly interesting, and left me personally watching the movie purely to see where his story goes, which also was a surprisingly satisfying conclusion that leaves the door open for a very likely sequel that has potential as long as they ditch what didn't work and focus on the actual good ideas. Overall, definitely one of the better faith based movies but can easily be skipped and you won't be missing out on something that another film does better. However, if you're in the mood for a Christian mission impossible movie, this should more than satisfy you for 2 hours.

Hoping they continue the series.

I have read all of the books. Those AND the Book they are based upon. The information in them is voluminous, yet somehow it has all been packaged concisely, quite a feat. The acting is superb, camera work and settings. Truly a well-done version. I'd love to see a sequel. Sorbo makes the best Mr. Steele IMO.
