- Rating: 1.5 out of 5 starsMovie Review: Left Behind (2014) Left Behind attempts to adapt the popular Christian novel series into a high-stakes apocalyptic thriller, but ultimately fails to deliver on both its faith-based and action-packed promises. Starring Nicolas Cage as pilot Rayford Steele, the film follows the chaotic aftermath of the Rapture, where millions of people mysteriously vanish, leaving the world in turmoil. Despite an intriguing premise, Left Behind struggles with uneven pacing, clunky dialogue, and an over-reliance on melodrama rather than genuine suspense. Cage’s performance feels restrained compared to his usual intensity, and while the supporting cast, including Chad Michael Murray and Cassi Thomson, try to bring emotional depth, the script leaves them with little to work with. Visually, the film lacks the scale and tension expected from an end-of-the-world scenario, relying heavily on repetitive cockpit scenes and uninspired CGI. While the story’s religious themes are front and center, they feel more like an afterthought in favor of generic disaster movie tropes. Ultimately, Left Behind misses the mark, appealing primarily to fans of the source material but leaving general audiences underwhelmed with its lackluster execution and unintentional camp. - Rating: 3 out of 5 starsNot a bad lil thought experiment actually. Especially if you get past the first 20m or so. Definitely underrated.
- Rating: 1 out of 5 starsummmmm... this movie sucks but in a way that is confusing. the movie is based around the rapture, but uh you would never know unless you know the bible because the actors never say it, they simply reference it. the movie Kinda just ends with the city on fire and mr cage landing on a road and then they say "this isn't the end its only starting." Honestly, there aint much cooking here.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsI liked this movie. It was a good time on a Saturday afternoon with my wife and daughter. I think it's very solidly 3 to 3 1/2 stars, but i'm ranking it 5 stars to counteract the 0% rating by all the Godless hollywood demon worshipping critics who are obviously deeply triggered by it's very existence. Seriously folks, this movie is not bad at all. Hellywood: Now *that* is bad.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsOne of my fav Nicolas Cage movies.
- Rating: 1.5 out of 5 starsI mean if you love action movies like this, then I guess it would be good for you to watch. But there’s plenty of better action movies to watch than this movie. As a Christian someone please tell me if this movie managed to convert any atheists.
- Rating: 0.5 out of 5 starsAnother attempt by the Christian right to send the message that if you don't follow their imaginary God, you'll be abandoned and left to suffer for 7 years in hell on earth. It was a real comedy romp. I laughed through much of it. Gotta love the message of fear. Really inspires one to jump on the holy bandwagon. AAAuuuuuugh.
- Rating: 2 out of 5 starsit's pretty horrible in theory, but besides the fear-mongering i'm not gonna lie and say i didn't wanna finish watching it LMAO
- Rating: 1 out of 5 starsWho greenlit this? How did it get made? For what I assume is suppose to be an eerie suspenseful thriller it is utterly unwatchable and ironically the only emotion I felt is hysterical laughter when Martin Klebba exits the plane. I mean, it's REALLY FUNNY I hit the rewind button 5 times. I assume Vic Armstrong just gave up at that point.
