Lotus Eaters
audience Reviews
, 61% Audience Score- Rating: 1 out of 5 starsAwful...if all your characters are vacuous trust fund imbeciles you at least need some writing or a plot to hang them on.It feels like an extended perfume advert or flicking through a tired Harpers and Queen at the dentists. Its hard to imagine an audience for this film, even the want for nothing indulged Chelsea coke set this film portrays would I fear lack the narcissism required. The entire film takes place in a bubble-at no point do any of the characters meet up with anybody outside of their social set-the real world might have added some much needed depth or at least a mirror to reflect or glimpse something other than a perfectly coiffured fringe.Perhaps a documentary would have been a better use of the time and money.
- Rating: 4.5 out of 5 starssexy and challenging
- Rating: 3 out of 5 starsBizarre film but extremely visually appealing. Loved the music
- Rating: 2 out of 5 starsQuite an interesting look at a world that is rather inaccessible to the general population. http://moviebuzzers.com/2011/04/26/tribeca-film-festival-11-lotus-eaters-review/
- Rating: 3.5 out of 5 starsWith fairy-tale like set designs and film shots that appear to have come alive from a high fashion magazine editorial shoot, lotus eaters sucks you into the world of a glamorous yet destructive sensation-seeking group of 20 somethings with too much time on their hands. Saved by its beautiful imagery and black and white filming, this film leaves you with not much to ponder about with characters that are slightly two-dimensional although not quite far-fetched.
