Moving, enlightening, but above all entertaining, this is a worthy tribute to a prolific talent that fortifies our appreciation for Vandross and his art.

"Never Too Much" isn't enough; by the end, it still feels like it's too early to say goodbye to Luther.

Vandross’s specific power isn’t always fully articulated here -- but his musical brilliance certainly is.

This is a long overdue celebration of one of the greats of soul music, who died 20 years ago.

Vandross regularly produces sounds that seem superhuman, and does so with no visible strain. It is also no work at all enjoying a movie so full of affection for its subject and his music.

“Luther: Never Too Much” will have fans dancing in their seats, playing karaoke to some of his best slow songs, or in the mood for love, which is how his friends, family, and Porter want him to be remembered most.

I found the approach of the friends and colleagues who loved him, who wanted to honor how he lived his life, by not discussing his sexuality onscreen, to be a testament to [Porter's] respect for him.
