Maamannan

, 73% Audience Score- Rating: 0.5 out of 5 starsthis movie is a dog killing movie and promote animal cruelty.
- Rating: 0.5 out of 5 starsThe scene about killing dog is very disturbing... this kind of scenes in a movie is not a appropriating fact. Though it's fiction, it does create impact on people.
- Rating: 4.5 out of 5 starsMaamannan - 9/10. The third best film that Mari Selvaraj has directed in his career. Nothing wrong with that, and its obviously very hard to top the stupendously brilliant Pariyerum Perumal and the very solid Karnan. Maamannan for the most part is a brilliant political thriller that has some optimism in it. Mari's hope is that people will exercise their voting privileges and vote for the right individuals, and also his hope is that the politicians themselves will respect each other without resorting to any hatred or beneath level minded things. The intermission and the scene around it is one of the best in recent times, and really captures the casteism commentary in this movie so brilliantly. Vadivelu is in top top form here, providing an incredibly layered and brilliant performance as the elder politician who gains confidence and respect within himself when he reconnects with his estranged son. As a whole, people might find the second half a little laggy due to the election portions, but in my opinion, this is another solid solid attempt from Mari in talking about social justice in a new and different way.
- Rating: 1 out of 5 starsSuch a ugly cheap movie. Only these cheap Mari Selvaraj and Madras Director Pa. Ranjith keep making all these cheap casteist movies. These movies will keep thinking about Caste presence in the society. Pig vs Dog scene was gore to the highest extent. I don't think they are graphics, looks very real. These cheap DMK and their supporting Director will keep Caste in TN forever.. Yuck
- Rating: 2.5 out of 5 starsUdhayanidhi is a bad actor, but it was not his incompetence alone that ruined a well-intended political thriller. The screenplay and direction are subpar compared to Selvaraj's Pariyerum Perumaal. Even Fahad Faasil's acting couldn't save this badly written cliche story, presented in a new bottle of caste politics.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 starsIt is a good movie Fahad Faasil and Vadivelu Sir acting was amazing Udhayanidhi Stalin was also good it's a good movie , action scenes are good
- Rating: 0.5 out of 5 starsChristian missionary agendas worked very well in this film. The way they portrayed a negative character who wore tilak and a Hindu follower and portrayed him as a nastiest far away from reality, in the reality a pastor raped a minor dalit girl in shimogga on the movie release day. They show they are the good on the screen but behind curtains they show their inhuman things.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsVadivelu has aced it in Maamanan. Mari Selvaraj has brought the best out of him. Eminently watchable & down to earth. Solid performances by Faahad Faasil, Udayanidhi Stalin & Keerthy Suresh add to the experience.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsI am a physician working in Mayo Clinic and had the opportunity to see a Tamil movie after a long time in theater in AMC Times Square. What a fantastic philosophy of disparity in caste and people approach in secularism, director Mari Selvaraj did a marvelous direction. Vadivelu was seen as best comedian so far, now he proved as a mature serious actor as father and he did a serious action in Rajakaliamman in front of Sakthi! Above all my younger favorite hero is Udhayanidhi Stalin who fabulously did along with Keerthi Suresh. Villain Fahad Fazil did a tremendous achievement in his actions. Well Done Red Giant productions
