This is a kid's movie rife with all the Freudian squalor that Disney repressed.

It's a combination of Victor Herbert, scrambled Mother Goose, scrambled Laurel and Hardy, and toy nightmare - the sort of thing an imaginative child might dream, falling asleep after too many Christmas excitements and indigestibles.

. Revenge, Christmas, and big wooden men, does it get any better than that? Sometimes, it is really best not to analyze too deeply, just enjoy the insanity.

Regardless of what you call it, this public domain Laurel and Hardy adventure is a classic fantasy film...
