Max Magician and the Legend of the Rings
audience Reviews
, 30% Audience Score- Rating: 4 out of 5 starsIt's a kids movie. As an adult watching, some of the dialogue and acting seems a bit cheesy, but as a kid, I never noticed. And even after years of not seeing it, the main theme of the movie, the typical "you can do anything if you put your mind to it" stuck with me. I loved this movie as a kid, and even rewatching it as an adult, I find myself laughing at the funny moments, and going "oh no!" when the character is in trouble. The main story is that Max, a boy who likes magic--the kind of magic stage magicians do--is bullied at his school, and is a loner. A neighbor gives him a magic book, and although at first Max brushes it off as nonsense, he quickly realizes that the spells do work, and that there is a world in danger that he can explore and save. Through the course of saving the woodland people from the evil King Dagdha, Max learns that even when you want to give up, things will work out if you've really tried your best.
- Rating: 2 out of 5 starsI like this movie. But it is not Harry Potter and it is definitely not Lord of the Rings. It is almost cheesy at some points. The movie seems to take place in the same location the entire time. The special effects are kind of lame and the plot is also very slow. It is still fun to watch.
- Rating: 3.5 out of 5 starscute movie, Id put it right along with things like legend of the seeker: darkness rising, neverending story, and voyage of the unicorn
- Rating: 1 out of 5 starsThis is one of those so bad it's bad films
- Rating: 2.5 out of 5 starsthis is the most unintentionally hilarious movie I've ever seen, but I don't subscribe to the "entertainment, even unintentional, equals quality" mantra - it's still god-awful, but probably worth a look
- Rating: 0.5 out of 5 stars15% Acting is nonexistent. The dubbing and sound effects were terrible, fact is, the creature designs (by Henderson Design & Production) was the only thing I thought was passable.
- Rating: 4.5 out of 5 starsBEST. MOVIE. EVAR. never judge a book by it's cover. and speaking of books, this is a book of real magic, used by wizards for centuries. -huh, good one mr. tim EXCUSE ME? -oh.nothing....
- Rating: 4 out of 5 starsmagical adventures for kids
- Rating: 0.5 out of 5 starsSo terrible it's a joy to watch.
- Rating: 2 out of 5 starsA cheesy rip-off of every fantasy movie ever. Worth watching for the "pot smoking" scene
