This one unfortunately walked the tough line of being bad enough that that becomes the source of entertainment and an ok story just done badly. Luke Wilson and Samuel L. Jackson give pretty lackluster performances, more notieceably in Wilson's case, but I can blame a lot of that on the stunted dialogue. I actually enjoyed the possible twist that explained a lot of aspects and motivations I had already given up on and assumed at the time these inconsistencies and large leaps we were being asked to take were just the result of a real bad movie. I always appreciate an ambiguous ending as well. Samuel L. Jackson Binge: SLJ was definitely the more entertaining of the two leads here but that was likely more a result of his character. With Arena and Meeting Evil so far from 2011, I'd love to see the projects he turned down this year. SLJ #12

Don't get the hate for this movie. Sam L Jackson is meant for playing villain and I got the fun out of it.

I like the casting of this movie, but the movie itself is not very good. Jackson is too over the top, and Wilson is too non-confrontational. Put them together and the diametrically opposed characters, instead of starting something amazing, make you feel like death might be a better option than sitting through this. Thank goodness for Leslie Bibb's stoic portrayal of the "stand by your man" wife. Nothing will surprise you here. Nothing will excite you either.

This was a real blind watch for me, just something I grabbed off cable based on the two leads, and for the most part, it's a lot of fun. It does start to falter under the weight of its own twists and turns in the final reel, but otherwise, it's got a lot of fun bits and some great dialog. Give it a rental.

Violent at times, Meeting Evil cannot compensate for its unintentionally funny dialogue and questionable direction
