A mediocre animated movie. It was one of the first films I watched in the cinema rather than on DVD, but unfortunately, it was just average. I must confess that if a movie is mediocre or bad, then it is 100% so.

This movie knows exactly what it is trying to do, and it does it. It isn't trying to be a Pixar Film or a Studio Ghibli Film. It is just trying to be a funny brainless kids' movie. Something that the kids can watch in the afternoon while the adults work on something else. So even with them aiming low, they still miss the mark. On the positive side, I like the soundtrack. I'm a big fan of Oldies, and this cherry picks some great music from the 60's. And the 5-year-olds who watched it said they liked it. They didn't laugh, but they liked it. On the negatives, the motivations of all the characters don't add up. I can have some nonsense, but there needs to be some grounding elements to make the audience care about what's going on.

When I think of the term "People need to have constant bells and whistles to keep there attention nowadays" this is Exhibit A. Fast editing, nonstop action/nonsense, constant reference/Marvel/Adam Sandler type humor. Mindless plot with no substance. This is literally it and made by people who think Kids/families are stupid and need constant flashing things to keep attention. The plot basically is pointless and just another stupid save the world adventure. The problem here is this is everything the first two films have just without any of the character development that keeps things grounded and clever. It really shows how important Gru and the Girls are to why those two films are so good despite the mindless fun. What's left is the definition of a mindless comedy. The animation is still crisp but the scenes are so stupid half the time and is just ok honestly. The music isn't bad but half of it is just 70's songs mixed with other numbers that are alright as a whole. Everything else is alright too I guess. The plot "makes sense" but is so mindlessly dumb and the journey doesn't even really fufill what the Minions started out for. It's basically a filler movie in that sense. The first two balanced slow moments and knew when to chill with the humor. This never does and while the energy and animation help quite a bit, you just want a break sometimes and for it to take itself a bit more seriously and it just never does. It's clearly meant for kids and Moms who can go drink wine and get a 90 minute break from parenting. Skip This and stick to the first two.

**Minions – 2.5 Stars** Alright, so *Minions* is… fine. The animation? Top-notch as always. The voice cast? Great – you can tell everyone’s having fun. And getting some backstory on the little yellow guys was cool – finally explains why they’re so obsessed with villains. But man, it’s just not the same without Gru and the family. That warmth, that heart – it’s missing here. The story feels super generic, and the villain is forgettable at best. Sure, there are some funny bits – a few solid chuckles – but nothing that really sticks. It’s like they took the charm of the *Despicable Me* films and watered it down. That said, kids will probably enjoy it, and honestly, I didn’t hate it. But compared to the rest of the franchise, this one’s definitely at the bottom of the banana bunch. Fun enough for a casual watch, but you’ll probably forget it by tomorrow.

An interesting and easy-to-understand Minion origin story! ! It was very interesting! I don't know why it's rated so low.
