Moana 2
audience Reviews
, 86% Audience Score- Rating: 3.5 out of 5 starsA good time, smooth animation, and catchy songs. The only downside is this new Disney sequel obsession (with a post-credits scene already teasing Moana 3), especially with the live-action Moana coming soon too. Overkill. But otherwise, it’s quite enjoyable — kids will like it.
- Rating: 0.5 out of 5 starsThis movie was terrible. It hammers one over the head with multiple mind numbing action scenes and the most tedious and forgettable songs. Note to Disney - less is more! I think Disney is losing it's ability to make nice unforgettable animated films. This movie was one big bore. I can't believe now they're doing a live action movie of Moana. Give it a rest!
- Rating: 2.5 out of 5 starsThis was an ok movie that should have stayed a show, from the ones that did nothing to the film, to the stupid side characters, to the “villain” this movie was fine.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 starsEh forgettable compared to the first one.
- Rating: 1.5 out of 5 starsI find it difficult to recognize Moana 2 as a canonical continuation of the first film. The lackluster Disney+ series-like animation that really doesn’t live up to the first film made 8 years prior really throws you off course. The songs are forgettable and mediocre. The plot is all over the place and really doesn’t have the cohesion of its predecessor. Moana 2 is a disappointing mess that is not worthy of being in the same franchise as the original.
- Rating: 3.5 out of 5 starsSure, it definitely can't beat the first, but we can't deny how much of a banger "Get Lost" was, honestly still playing it on repeat months after release.
- Rating: 2 out of 5 starsMany sequels come out and many of them make sense, this definitely was not expected and to be fair with the whole storyline of it I don't think Disney expected it either. It felt very rushed, very cliché and very just okay. There definitely is nothing special about it if you liked the original for the characters then this would be the perfect film for you!! But if you watched it for the sound track for the story or literally anything else i would advise against it. For a film with such a strong soundtrack as the original, if a sequel is created you either need to match it or do better and that definitely didn't happen, the music was rushed and generally poor from both a lyrical perspective as well as a sound perspective. The storyline didn't make much sense either as there was nothing even hinting to the story in the original, it was a bit like a surprise like "oh surprise this is happening now!!" But not a good surprise more like sitting on a upright toothbrush surprise. Overall it was rushed, very clearly a rush for money. I do believe with a bit more thought and care it could have been a great film but no, Disney apparently doesn't know what it is to make films anymore so here we are.
- Rating: 1 out of 5 starsSurprised by the good reviews, I guess children’s movies have a low bar but not much happened in this movie and what happened to Lin? The songs sucked
- Rating: 4.5 out of 5 starsAmazing movie! 10/10
- Rating: 3 out of 5 starsIn the first half hour of the movie, I actually had high hopes. The colours were vibrant and it looked very promising. But it turns out that the story was weak, if there was one at all. This movie has the emotional depth of a pea. The songs were mediocre. The characters were shallow. Some characters from the first movie who made a reappearance have sort of entirely been rewritten in an obvious attempt to come off as a revelation but turned out to be unappetizing to me. Moana and Maui are reunited (top voice casting without doubt) as they set off on an adventure together—new crew, new villains, new risks, new feats. Their chemistry was amazing in the first movie, but it lacked here. The scenes, though visually coherent, were emotionally not. Of course, the first part had set high standards, and this one did not come anywhere close, but it is a fun watch regardless.
