    Good but, little boring, though

I can’t even express how disappointed I felt watching this. The first one had me crying and laughing at one intercom. Watching this was completely opposite of how I felt from the first. When big hits like this have sequels it has to have something in it to where it sink into someone’s heart, and they will have to see it again. Moana 2 just doesn’t do that for me, and I can say I’m not going to watch it again.

While the first movie included a long and prevalent journey with unexpected challenges, the second movie was very little in comparison. The second movie seems like it was only made to create more revenue than the first. The added little sibling for cute points, the new crew to spice things up, and the challenges were practically handed to them on a platter and were fairly easy up until the final one. The second movie’s existence makes little to no sense as well because the first film was supposed to symbolize her spiritual journey. On top of that, there was no mention of the ‘needed journey’ which took place in the second film in the first one at all.

I gotta say for a sequel to an already really good movie… yeah this was worth a watch.

I loved the first movie and so, well, there was a lot to live up to. If you enjoyed the first Moana you might love this one too. I really liked it and I would recommend this sequel to those who enjoyed the first movie or have kids who enjoyed Moana. It got better as the story progressed and I was humming the ending song after it was over. Auliʻi Cravalho is outstanding as ever as well as Dwayne Johnson and the cast, was it a bit forgettable and no song stuck in my heart afterwards. Did I enjoy every song and feel joy throughout the movie? yes. My 12 year old son is the gauge for all family Disney movies and he really enjoyed it, and, in the end, that is what mattered most. I watched this on Disney+ and would have super enjoyed it on the big screen.

This sequel is unfortunately not as good as the first one, but giving the fact that this was supposed to be a tv-show that good turned into a movie, it was to be expected. But still, the animation was fantastic, and so was the voice acting. The story was all over the place, but the music were really fun. And the ending may lead up to something in the future. Overall, a fun movie that's worth a watch.
