Mothers' Instinct
audience Reviews
, 47% Audience Score- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsAbsolutely loved Mother’s Instinct! The acting was superb—every character brought so much depth and emotion to the story. The plot kept me engaged from start to finish, and the cinematography was breathtaking. It’s a powerful and moving film that will stay with you long after the credits roll. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a captivating drama!
- Rating: 1 out of 5 starsWhat? I hated this film. The acting was fine, if not rather melodramatic, however the storytelling was silly and unpleasant to watch. This story told in a French film doesn't give the green light to a similar telling in a contrite US version.
- Rating: 2.5 out of 5 starsActing is great but the story takes too long to get to the climax.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 starsSurprised to see the relatively low ratings for the movie. As much as I didn't like the story, the chemistry between the actors and actresses was executed well. Anne Hathaway was impressive in this character that just had nothing but unconditional love for her only son. The transition from her being good to bad was not something I liked to see, but objectively presented it understandably. Jessica Chastain was able to receive the act from Hathaway and possessed no less understanding of the loss of family. Setting was simple, yet nostalgic with the old cars and the decorations of the houses. The makeup and visual effects was clear, and portrays woman homemakers accurately.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 starsPretty good, made you wonder if what you think is going on is actually going on. I liked the concept of the movie even though it's deranged.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 starsI felt this to be a really good thriller.the story i felt to be cold & calculating at times. Jessica Chastain & Anne Hathaway were very good.
- Rating: 3.5 out of 5 starsLoss and suspicion are the themes in this old-school-type film. Jessica Chastain and Anne Hathaway have the chemistry necessary to keep your interests in a film with a measured approach.
- Rating: 2 out of 5 starsIt had suspense and was good as far as a thriller goes, but I didn’t really get the story. The character motivation for decisions didn’t make sense to me. And, like, what was the point of the movie?
- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsI don’t care for many 2024-2025 movies but my boyfriend and I thoroughly enjoyed watching this. It has been a while since I’ve seen movies I’ve enjoyed, so this was very nice to watch.
- Rating: 2.5 out of 5 starsAnother domesticated remake lost in translation, becoming more exposed across the inherent flaws from grasping its psychological aim diving onto a classic Hitchcock thriller irrationally thwarted by the thinly written unpleasantness turning towards utter unsatisfactory, albeit impressive displayed though hectic convictions from the leading actresses.
