This is an important movie in light of current events in Ukraine! Not quibbling about story-flow or (especially) photography...it's the STORY of Russia's relationship over the decades with Ukraine. And of an amazing Welsh reporter named Gareth Jones---an actual, real-life historical person who travelled to Ukraine in the time portrayed.

Important and relevant. Though not 100% accurate, it's very important and should lead to further and greater discourse and disclosure. Well written, well acted, well timed.

The roots of evil. How everything began.

Informative for me, a good dose of reality. A little difficult to follow, but non the less educational on Stalin.

True story about Gareth Jones, the journalist who (amongst others) witnessed and uncovered Stalin's famine in 1933. Obviously a dark and grim movie. And powerful.

See this movie. It is excellent and contains an extremely important message. Powerful people collude with other powerful people, and tell lies to the peasants. Gareth Jones worked tirelessly to expose the unbelievable evils of the Bolshevik Communists.

I think the subject matter demands 5 stars. Orwell is the famous one but how many knew about the Welsh reporter Mr Jones? Totally convincing portrayal of the places and the period.

"Norton has good qualities. However the way they chose to film - uncolourful - almost dark - was a bit too much. Depiction of Ukraine familne was good. Princess Margaret was good - would have welcomed more on her story." from a lady viewer.

I loved this movie; don't agree with the critics. Captivating, well acted.

A satisfying and necessary film, but a subject that deserved better.
