Mrs. Harris Goes to Paris
audience Reviews
, 93% Audience Score- Rating: 4 out of 5 starsThis is a very sweet film and certainly worth a watch. Perfect for a Saturday night or a film for when you "don't know what you want to watch" Good casting and Jason Issacs Irish accent isn't that bad too. The film shows a deeper side to life of Haute Couture and you "never know what happens behind closed doors" Well worth a watch.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsA fun and inspiring movie!
- Rating: 1.5 out of 5 starsStarts off well but quickly deteriorates into something I feel I’ve seen a thousand times before. Campy, pandering feel good movie with average acting from supporting cast. Lead was the only good acting in my opinion and why I have given any stars at all. Wasn’t for me.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsHeartfelt and feel good
- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsI loved this movie and all it's characters.
- Rating: 3.5 out of 5 starsEasy and joyful to watch. Lesley Manville is fantastic, as usual. Yes, it's clichéd and twee but it's great to see a film about an older woman! It's also a showcase for Dior!
- Rating: 4.5 out of 5 starsTo regain faith in humanity the way is Mrs. Harris. In the second half of the fifties, Mrs. Harris, a domestic worker from London, leads her life in an apparently happy routine until she makes the decision to travel to Paris and buy a dress by the designer Christian Dior, and in the process change the lives of all the people who cross its path. With a totally charming story and the outstanding performance of Mrs. Leslie Manville, the film in a fairy tale tone without detaching itself from the realistic, ALMOST at no time. But the important thing here is the dresses that simply hypnotize in the face of such beauty, and this is said by someone who couldn't care less about clothes. I fell in love with this movie, highly recommended.
