Although quite predictable in terms of plot, this film shows some interesting character development coupled with beautiful worldbuilding and awe-inspiring design and animation.

The creative story-line is really amazing, animations are way futuristic for the year it was made.

I'll try to avoid spoilers in this review so let me try to describe it. This movie has stunning visuals to the point you could watch it solely for the animation and an imaginative fantasy world that has interesting view but it was borderline ruined by the horrible script, bland character's, annoying comic relief and a whole bunch of other things. The biggest issue is that the movie is way too short to do any of these things, 84 minutes doesn't do this movie justice the plot is fairly basic but 84 minutes is way too short and the pacing is horrible as a result, this movie was one of my absolute childhood favourites but looking back the characters are pretty much forced into generic roles; awkward boy who proves himself, smart girl who only exists to be the love interest, the dumb jock and the villain is literally a worse version of Te-ka from moana and I hate that because with just a bit more time and a better script the world and the characters would've been so much more fleshed out. With that being said let me say some good stuff about the film. Its almost perfect for kids as the plot isn't too difficult to understand, the characters may be generic but are still somewhat appealing and relatable. Overall the movie isn't bad it just had the potential to be a great but failed to

A solid family adventure with some beautiful animation

While the characters are fairly cliched and some of the dialogue is a bit cringey which I'm not sure is entirely the fault of the English dub or was already present in the original script but Mune: Guardian of the Moon stands out thanks to its gorgeous art direction, striking character designs, fairly good voice acting in the dub and imaginative world-building making it a fun fantasy adventure in its own right, even if, at the cost of parroting another review, it doesn't have the same depth as either Kung Fu Panda or How to Train Your Dragon. An imaginative film that, like Jack and the Cuckoo-Clock Heart, gives me further appreciation for French animation.

A beautiful, whimsical, tour de force that fits right into the vain of stories like Disney's Hercules. Though amazingly cute, the story has its share of tragedy and darkness. The world is original and well thought out. Easy to watch several times. There are several versions of this movies English dubs though, originally french, Netflix did a re-dub when they added it onto their streaming service despite having been dubbed into English already. The Netflix Dub, simply isn't as good.

Too many one dimensional characters and too much happening for a cohesive story-line. Forgettable despite the beautiful animation and scenery.

An amazing independent little movie that slipped under way too many people radar!

This is one of the movies I don't mind my son watches at least 4 times a week.
