Movie was totally off. Acting was horrible across the board. Writing was just plain stupid. If any thing go the best Acting was turned in by the chimp.

Low quality, but a harmlessly fine 90 minutes. I found 'MVP: Most Valuable Primate' to be perfectly passable. Sure it isn't a movie that requires any sort of thinking, it's very silly and would never top great film lists and/or win any major awards. However, not a single part of me disliked this as a movie. It's flimsy but watchable. The beginning also holds more depth than anticipated. Kevin Zegers and Jamie Renée Smith are likeable leads, while those chimps are cute - and convincing 'actors', btw! Rick Ducommun is also involved, always remember that guy from 1994's 'Blank Check'. Elsewhere, I proper thought Devin Ratray appears here as Larry, turns out he was played by Trevor Roberts - a bit of a doppelgänger! Two more of these flicks left to watch. One of the best trilogies of all-time, I'm sure.

Easily the best sports movie ever. It's a shame it was ripped off completely by the Air Bud series, no one needs another movie about dogs. Jack is a hero and icon to many generations of kids. 5 bags of popcorn.

The goods: Accurately portrays human/deaf girl relationship with surprising delicacy, making sure to point out the nuanced inter-species complications and surprises you'd find in a similar, real life situation. The bads: The chimp wouldn't be able to keep up with humans on the ice. It'd have a seriously powerful shot, but you'd have to play it way different than they chose to in the movie. If I'm watching a sports movie, I want the action real and the real competition more creative. They could have taken this movie down a real thoughtful avenue, but they kind of went for slapstick. Maybe we'll get a sequel and they can pick up the slack there.

Surprisingly decent film for a kid's movie about a hockey-playing-chimp. More subdued and thought-out than a movie of this kind usually is. Very pleasant throughout. Never too zany but got enough going to keep your attention. The critical rating here is too harsh. It's good for what it is and what it's trying to do! Giving 5 stars to bump it up.

Cute family movie. Very predictable but my 3 and 5 year old thought it was hilarious. Perfect for this age range and enjoyable to watch with them. Bonus points for actually being set in BC.

Worse than even the premise would have you believe.
