Myth of Man
audience Reviews
, 88% Audience Score- Rating: 0.5 out of 5 starsThis is quite a paradox of a film. It's really beautifully artistic. Absolutely amazing photography. BUT : As a movie it sucks. There is seriously no dialog at all ! The plot is non existent. Yet, if you get stoned, just keep it on in the background for something to look at.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsSome films are intended to entertain. Some are intended to celebrate the art form. The best films do both. Myth of Man, falls into this category. Be aware, if you are only looking for entertainment, you might come away disappointed. This film challenges you to interpret it's meaning. There is no dialogue. The set design is avant guard. The score is haunting and beautiful. The acting is award worthy. Beneath it all, there is depth, sacrifice, and lessons to carry away. I loved this film, but my review is not intended to encourage or discourage. Rather, to prepare you for the experience.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsYes. It was a wow moment. Well worth the watch. It’s pretty darn deep. Some may not get it. But those who do will love it.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsA beautiful story about faith, life and death, about helping others, especially the less fortunate while facing your own mortality. A movie filled with symbolism that will move you and force you to think about what it all means. I absolutely loved this movie. I've watched it twice already and I'm sure I'll be watching it many times over.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsA completely immersive and yet touching tale that has haunted me for a few weeks now, while being visually spectacular. The performances, all without any dialogue, are endearing and complicated. I'll watch this a few times.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsAn original idea that while well written is carried by the performances of these actors. Truly worth your time.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsAbsolutely Beautiful Film Absolutely beautiful film that is wonderful to look at and moving to consider. I don't often watch films more then once, but I look forward to experiencing this film a second time. Thank you to the director, writer and cast that made this charming and deeply meaningful movie possible. As I was watching I could not stop myself from thinking about the amount of time and work that had to go into this project. With all the lazy writing and storytelling that is common with many films today, this was a breath of fresh air. The telling of a story through glances, facial expression and body language drew one to concentrate even more on the characters and their own idiosyncrasies. I found myself lost with them and rooting for them with each struggle they attempted to overcome. Really wonderful and moving experience.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 starsAn interesting short movie that didn't know how to be a full length movie. Repetitive scenes and a lack of forward motion just made me glad it was over.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsA beautiful and lyrical combination of film, puzzle, and metaphor. Luscious with vivid effects and scene details, the film takes us through another existence while drawing out the characters through their actions. At first I was resistant to the absence of dialogue; until about a third of the way through when I realized I was thoroughly absorbed into the world and the story. If there’s any criticism, it’s that some of its plot points are a little too oblique; a little too hard to decipher. And the ending, while satisfying, wasn’t something that answered all questions and explained all mysteries. I’m guessing that repeated watches will decipher more and more of the film; we’ll see if I have the interest to watch again.
