This movie is a timeless classic that gets ages like wine. Chevy Chase and the rest of the cast just make this movie a perfect classic to watch every year, especially around the holidays. I'm thankful local theaters still play it sometimes around Christmas. How can you not give this a 5 star? I hope this one is around for many years to come!! A perfect comedy!

An absolute Christmas Classic, along with Die Hard and A Christmas Story

'National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation', unlike predecessor 'National Lampoon’s European Vacation', is more akin to the original. A good watch it is, if still off from the first flick. The festive vibes are there, it's perhaps a bit too mean-spirited at times but overall works. The cast are the cast, I don't think anyone stands out as being a great performer but they are all satisfactory. Chevy Chase is the obvious lead, don't get me wrong, but I wouldn't rank his performance as anything overly higher than his co-stars. Interesting to see Julia Louis-Dreyfus appear, by the way. All in all, there's enough there to entertain. The ending is suitably watchable, which is something I did feel was missing from the previous film.

Classic movie and it was my first time actually watching this film. The iconic lit up house where Clark Griswold who is playe by Chevy Chase is trying to make this Christmas the best Christmas possible for his family. It is a crazy Christmas with both sides of the family coming over and everything seems to be going wrong. The icing on the cake was when Clark receives what was supposed to be his bonus and he ended up getting some jelly membership. He gets set off by this and ends up wishing that his boss Mr. Frank Shirley who is played by Brian Doyle-Murray would be wrapped up in a ribbon for him so that he could tell him off. Cousin Eddie who is played by Randy Quaid decides to give Clark his christmas present and kidnapps Frank Shirley which results in the cops getting called. Frank ends up giving Clarks' bonus to him plus 20 percent on top of that. At the start of this movie, the family seems to be very far apart but as the movie ended everyone came together as one. If you like Christmas movies, you will like this movie because it is a must watch. Overall, I loved the cast and I liked the overall plot of this movie.

A true Christmas classic and a must watch every year. The rating of a 4.5/5 vs a straight 5 is probably my own fault for watching it too much.
