Ne Zha

From the get-go, the humour and the character design weren't something I felt I would be into, but the movie slowly turned me. There were a few things that were too quick, and some things in the first act were a bit annoying, but even with all that, the movie was able to make it work very well. Pixar and Dreamworks have made some great 3D animated movies, but just in terms of pure spectacle, this went way above them with the action sequences. I was also surprised by how easily it pulled me with the emotional side of it. From what I've read, this is only inspired by Chinese mythology, which has characters of the same name, and the story is very, very different. But it follows a pattern I've seen in Hindu mythology a lot, even though the villains are doing stuff that is evil, every single person is acting out of desperation to right everything while the society pushes them into corners where they are making wrong choices because of expectations on them and even the most evil deed stems from a rightful feeling that gets twisted because of fate. This was really better than I thought it would be, especially after seeing the initial scenes where it's clear that it does try to cater to kids a little bit. Now I am actually interested in watching the second part from theaters.

Through engaging, mythical multi-layered storytelling & superb animation, aside from Flow, Wallace & Gromit..., Paddington... & few others, Ne Zha puts to shame most anything coming out of the Western world these days (hello Disney).

I regreted to watch this late. That was amazing! I love it!

The Nezha animated movie has several standout aspects, with its top-notch animation being the biggest plus. However, the pacing of the movie is somewhat slow. On the other hand, the climax is exceptionally well-done, with a thrilling transition from the pre-climax. The music is average and lacks impact. Nevertheless, there are a few memorable dialogues in the climax that leave a lasting impression.

It's okay I guess 9/10

Great animation, brilliant character design, and an enticing premise. It could have been amazing. Overall, I really wanted to love this movie, because it had such excellent reviews, so I suppose I went in with too high standards, and finished the film somewhat annoyed. The amount of disrespect toward loving, sacrificial parents really really really annoyed me. However, Ne Zha's unhinged personality was highly entertaining and almost made up for it. Overall, the mix of cringy jokes and absolutely hilarious moments coupled with the cheesy lines and truly top-notch, almost-as-gut-wrenching-as-they-could-have-been-emotional moments make the film not altogether unenjoyable, but the chaotic plot is confusing at times, in a blink-and-you'll-wonder-why-everyone's-suddenly-fighting kind of way. The worst part is that many, many villager lives would actually have been saved if the "villains" of the story succeeded.

unbelieveable story. well done

I loved this movie. it pulled at heart strings and was funny too. The fight scenes are super epic the animation is on par with the recent kung fu panda fight scenes. I had to make an account just to review this movie. I'm so excited to watch nezha 2 as well. It's clear why nezha 2 is the top grossing animated film worldwide all-time as nezha1 has lots of loveable characters and character development that sets nezha2 up for success.
