, 42% Audience Score- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsWe did not know what to expect but here we are an old married couple of 39 years with five adult children watching this. Where was this film 35 years ago? It absolutely captured the feelings and rage of impostor syndrome I suffered when my kids were young and I chose to stay home to rear them. When the movie ended I was in awe, and my husband simply apologized to me. Lovely film. P.S. - I grew into being a somewhat competent mother and when the diapers and after school activities were over I got an adult job, made a career of it and recently retired. I could never have seen my future in any of the pampers or huggies boxes I opened over those first 15 years.
- Rating: 2.5 out of 5 starsDeserves credit for it's originality and it's attempt to take on motherhood and stay at home parenting, but that's about it. Inconsistent and rather dull effort overall.
- Rating: 0.5 out of 5 starsYour thoughts on this movie will vary depending on your circumstances, whether you’re a man or women, have or don’t have kids and if you have kids, we’re you were a stay at home parent at some point in raising your kids. I’m a Dad of 2 and was a stay at home Dad when my kids were 1 and 2. It was the best time of my life.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsWhile i felt that the metaphor could have been landed more cleanly, i still loved this film. I thought Amy Adam’s portrayal of what early motherhood can feel like (did feel like in many ways for me) was spot on. I honestly felt relief watching it knowing that my feelings and my experience were so shared that there was a movie about it. I think that anyone who is a parent or seeks to understand what the day to day can be like for parents/mothers (and especially stay at home mothers) should watch this film.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsI found this film intensely, even uncomfortably, emotionally engaging. Much more so than anything else I’ve seen in the last few years, possibly longer. I saw some reviews where they didn’t like the transformation but for me the most unrealistic scene was at the end after the art show, where it felt like pure Mom wish fulfilment 🙃
- Rating: 2 out of 5 starsDosen't get to the point, or entertain.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 starsAs someone else given birth, did a mixture of staying at home and working, I'm tired to death of this kind of tale and didn't want to be reminded of it. Yes I shouldn't have watched it but decided to try it anyway. It is funny, spot on with the humour and disgusting in an arty way, but too much for me. I appreciate the film for what it is. It describes parenthood perfectly. Watch at your peril, not for the squeamish
- Rating: 1.5 out of 5 starsMaybe I wasn't in the mood, but I found it extremely dull, guess I was expecting more with the title 😅
- Rating: 2 out of 5 starsThere I was, thinking this was gonna be a cool were-dog movie. But it isn't. The sublime Amy Adams bemoans her lot as a mother to a small brat, realising she has thrown away her gift as an artist by doing so. The dog metaphor never quite struck me. The humour is fleeting, but thankfully the run time is adequate to stop this from being a bore.
