"No One Killed Jessica" is an engrossing fact-based crime thriller that makes it point loud and clear. I was invested in this movie from the moment it started. The movie showcases some strong lead performances and feels very grounded in reality, as it should. The movie can be frustrating to watch at times but it is effective because that is the intention. I do feel the movie is strongest in its first half and the pacing becomes somewhat inconsistent in the second half. However, the story always kept me interested and on the edge of my seat. It's a strongly acted and well done Bollywood movie that is emotionally resonant and engaging to watch.

I'm pretty willing to watch Vidya Balan do anything, but let's be honest here: the role of the long-suffering sister who seeks justice for her murdered-in-plain-sight sister is fairly thankless-- even if they didn't just put Balan in glasses and a ponytail (apparently Hollywood AND Bollywood for "frumpy") and call it characterization. The much more interesting character and the storyline we should've followed is that of the crackjack journalist who at first dismisses the story as blah tear-jerking 3rd page news, played with head-bitch*-in-charge relish by Rani Mukherjee. However, hampered by ripped-from-the-headlines, TV movie-of-the-week sentimentalism and staidness, the filmmakers pass up the opportunity to make a much more interesting film about media manipulation and the power struggles within the context of the Indian justice system. *No seriously, the credits roll on the character calling herself a bitch in the empowering way, no matter how many times the subtitles kept trying to convince me she was saying "witch".

Thought-provoking. And Vidya Balan did a good job.

Aside from Rani Mukherjee's bad acting, this movie was pretty good. I enjoy these occasional bollywood films that are not interrupted by song sequences and actually has a ongoing plot that makes sense.

sad and true story of how things can be so unfair and because of some courageous people it can be fixed. Rani was good choice for this role! However, Vidya's character was quite dull at times which i didn;t like that much...

No One Killed Jessica - CATCH IT (A-) This is a true story of Jessica Lal, who was shot to dead in 1999 by a Politician's son on refusal to serve drink after hours. This infamous case has a huge impact on the society when all witnesses refuse to acknowledge the killer and the criminal courts let the killer walk free. After controversial court's decision questions were raised upon the court authenticity and general public rights. This movie showcases the case trial of Jessica Lal, and shows how politicians use their influence to alter the witnesses and evidences. Rani Mukherjee and Vidya Balan have done a tremendous job with a brilliant bold written script. This defiantly goes to the director and writers of the movie who have ignored the commercial norms and present the movie in most natural way possible. Two songs Delhi Delhi and Aali Re Saali Re in background gave me Goosebumps. Overall a really good movie in all expects. It's good to see Rani Back after a long time in good role.
