- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsPersonally my favorite Jordan Peele movie, love the concept, love the characters, love the scenery and the beauty of the monster. And that digestion scene had me scared shitless. This movie is fantastic.
- Rating: 3.5 out of 5 starsJordan Peele's "Nope" is a visually stunning and thought-provoking film that defies easy categorization. While I may need to give this another viewing to truly grasp the nuances of its social commentary and thematic depth, either way it's an intriguing movie with some great imagery. The film masterfully builds tension and delivers genuine scares, all while exploring themes of spectacle, exploitation, and humanity's relationship with the unknown. Even if some of its allegories felt a bit opaque on first watch, the sheer originality and craftsmanship make "Nope" a compelling cinematic experience that lingers long after the credits roll.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsNOPE means YEP! Love. Keke Palmer is a GOAT! Funny and suspenseful.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsDefinitely had me on the edge of my seat for sure! Awesome movie! Can't come across film like this during this time.
- Rating: 0.5 out of 5 starsNo words to describe the headache this gave me. BAD.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsThe imaginative capacity to conceive of something like this, but then pull it off on the screen is off the charts. Bravo to Jordan and all involved
- Rating: 1 out of 5 starsJust now finished watching Nope. The makers should be punished for ruining the potential of a brilliant cosmic horror story. The first half is so damn good. There's so much intensity created with the sound heavy storytelling. There's so much mystery around it. The entity was brilliant with how we knew very little of it. The shape and actions of it were incomprehensible. But the last 20-30 have to be the most cliche, unbearably noisy music, extremely chaotic, and laughably choreographed pay off to a story that I have ever seen. It's so bad and underwhelming that I wish I could punch the makers through the screen. I was so hooked with the mystery and connection of everything in the story. The constant recalling of that kid's show, the terrifying interval starting with the Jupe's show massacre and how predatorial instincts drove the entity's actions, making it both relatable and unknown. But the irritating performance of the actress, the underwhelming reaction of Daniel Kaluyaa and the infuriating climax. I cannot forgive the makers for ruining this movie. Highly disappointed.
