Some parts of the plot were pretty shallow. The mother's character was not well developed at all. There were some really wholesome moments between Bosch and Rockit though. Also some stunning visuals and a great soundtrack.

Based on true events of the childhood of Tyler Atkins growing up on the East Coast of Australia. With unstable parent structure Rockit is forced to live a harsh and unconventional life growing up in a single parent relationship. Rockits father, a drug growing dealer, is forced to be on the run after police find his marijuana crop fighting a bush fire. The movie has been hit harshly by Australian media critics but I found this movie to be totally opposite to their archaic views. For a movie that has been based on true life events, this is an awesome watch.

This film had all the elements of a decent drama but missed the mark. Luke Hemsworth was good and almost able to bring back the overall value of this picture but I'll be honest, the character of Rockit is so unappealing as a protagonist, that I thought to myself, "This is why I don't want kids". There was no build up, no revelation and no redemption. It ends up being a visually pretty 1 hour and 46 minute slow fizzle.

BOSCH & ROCKIT is an exciting summer movie starring a young father, Bosch (Luke Hemsworth) on the run from the law. In tow is his son, Rockit (Rasmus King), who believes he is on a magical holiday. The two bond as they travel along the Australian coast, evading capture by the police. The acting by the two leads is excellent, the complex relationship between father and son is believable and the dialogue is sharp. Rasmus King is particularly charming as Rockit. King also brings his surfing skills to the film with some stunning surfing cinematography by Ben Nott. The scenery along the Australian coast is beautiful, and the film's photography does it justice. The film's ending is unexpected and satisfying. Overall, BOSCH & ROCKIT is a well-made film that is sure to entertain audiences of all ages. It is exciting, funny, and heart-warming, with a touch of magic thrown in for good measure. I highly recommend it.
