Ocean's Thirteen

Another spectacle of celebrity narcissism and goofing off which can only be commended for not being quite as unbearable as its thoroughly self-satisfied predecessor.

It's a great looking movie.

A victim of its own pedigree.

Plausibility is the first casualty in Ocean's Thirteen but it's unlikely anybody is going to care.

Flat, abstruse, predictable and unable to raise your pulse rate higher than a blip on an EKG.

Ocean's Thirteen does not get very emotional but it caps a fun ride of heist films in an entertaining manner.

It’s all very silly and overdone, but they pull it off thanks to the effervescent rapport between Clooney and Pitt, the snappy delivery of the entire cast, and the smooth sheen of Soderberg’s brisk direction.

Ocean's Thirteen adds recognition of the both the city's traditions and new trends. The team takes on Al Pacino, who demolishes Godfather principle by defying omerta and breaking his word of honor.

The whole thing is entirely improbable, but the talented cast members do their best, occasionally providing some amusing moments. As a whole, however, the film is an artistic placeholder.
