This was awesome and kinda sad when Old Yeller left his former owner to join Travis. I’m surprised that Old Yeller wasn’t adopted by a child until his former owner traded Yeller to Travis. Travis felt really bad for Old Yeller fighting with most predators. This was a good story to watch and teaches me how to treat a dog fairly.

Expected it to be a bit more touching than it was but regardless, still a great coming of age story with some valuable lessons. Classic Disney story.

If you haven’t seen this movie you should. A classic tale of a boy and his dog, and the boy’s brother. This is the first of many Disney movies that feature the child actors of Tommy Kirk and Kevin Corcoran. The acting chops on both of them are not shown off well during this movie. I find that Kevin plays the same character in every movie and it does eventually get old. I do enjoy the period story telling of an old western farm and how life works on one. Dorothy McGuire does a good job as the mother and Jeff York returns as the annoying freeloading neighbor. This movie is worth checking out.
