The acting and dialogue is sooooo bad.

No. No, no, no. The fact that Shyamalan keeps getting hired to make movies, and people actually watch them makes me despair for humanity. This movie has a dumb plot that makes no sense, plot holes up the wazoo, fully unbelievable characters, and of course child sex. This country needs to do some self examination. How the hell did this garbage get made?

Were it not for the poor script, weak acting and sub standard direction (some of the filming seemed to have been left in by mistake in the edit) this might have been a passable film. It was not even bad enough to be funny. I hope the actors enjoyed their Caribbean holiday.

The movie had a great concept but the execution was flawed. The suspense was lackluster and the ending was unexciting.

The premise is a good idea and it is an interesting watch, but there wasn't a lot there for a 2-hour movie.

This film received 3.5 stars from me for the concept and the shock factor. It felt mildly drawn out and could have easily been a short feature based on the substance. I have a soft spot for M Night so I have watched this more than once, it’s entertaining but not one of his best pieces at all.

I feel like the movie gave a great idea but it could have been pushed further some things did not add up like the paper riddle of the kid liked it so much why didn’t he do it and why didn’t the other kid just tell him and the aging did not add up most times it was a fun watch for bored days but not if you wanna be pulled in and wanna have a long thought and talk with someone I feel it was not to it’s full potential.

Whoa, this movie is *so* expository. Like, how dumb does Shyamalan think the audience is? It's over the top with obviousness, and at times, it feels like he’s just using dialogue to explain away plot holes and weird, hard-to-believe moments. Some of the performances are straight-up atrocious, even for a pop-horror flick. Or maybe they’re supposed to be bad-funny? Because, honestly, it kinda is. There's no big twist like some of his other movies, but the reveal at the end is pretty decent. I kind of wish they'd focused more on that angle and made it more about the world surrounding the beach rather than focusing just on the fish bowl experiences. Overall, the ending isn't terrible, but the acting and dialogue are real *yikes*. Still, it was a fun enough diversion, but I wouldn’t call it a "good" movie, per se.

I actually liked this.. until the end/resolve - Shyamalan has some killer ideas that he seems to really enjoy ruining with the ending. Like if you start a video game you really like but it just gets slack and you get bored and just want it over with - that’s how I feel about his ideas. Anyway, the movie is fine but could’ve been better.

If I had known that was an M. Night Shyamalan movie, I would never have watched it. But I can guarantee you that is the last movie of his I will ever watch. Long, slow, boring and stupid… just like the rest of his stuff. Thankfully I recorded it off of the TV because I watched the whole thing in about 15 minutes. Unfortunately, that is 15 minutes of my life I’ll never get back. That fits nicely into the top 10 worst movies I’ve ever seen… even if for only 15 minutes.
