One Fast Move

Blatz’s film feels more interested in getting to know Wes, understanding what makes him tick, and showing us how he spends his days and why it matters. The irony is that we have a racing movie with a profoundly chill tone, and I’m very okay with that.

One Fast Move may initially feel like an ordinary Sports Drama, but its take on family feuds, inner demons and the importance of bonding to get over the pain of trauma definitively sets it apart from similar productions.

ONE FAST MOVE is a mixed bag of a movie, but one which has more pluses going for it than minuses.

Thrills, stunts, and the art of motorcycle racing are at the heart of this epic family-centered drama.

While this movie might not succeed entirely as a believable drama, the racing compensates somewhat. And the denouement shows how each person involved finds peace and joy in the victories of others.

The action is an attention grabber which pulls you into the touching father/son story.

…there’s remarkably little of the ridiculous action that you expect from a Hollywood racing movie, keeping things small-scale and believable…a straight-up popular entertainment that should satisfiy its audience…

This meditation on masculinity and what it means to be a man and a father is tense and well paced. That doesn't mean every scene in One Fast Move works.

Blatz’s love of motorcycles and racing is on full display and proves fun to watch.

'One Fast Move': It's got motorcycle racing, an estranged father-son relationship, and a romance with a diner waitress. Movies don't get any better than that!
