One & Two
audience Reviews
, 35% Audience Score- Rating: 3 out of 5 starsThe acting from the leads makes it watchable so if you're a timothee chalamet fan it's not bad since they both do a great job. The movie doesn't really make any sense as to what the whole point is i Kinda interpretated it as an over religious father repremanding his kids negativitly for being themselves but them learning maybe some of what he says is right which is a common relatable message but it doesnt have any backstory really at all as to why they even have these powers and what the whole purpose of them is it's kinda left up to interpretation I guess. The dad's acting is kinda bad at times like corny in parts but not overall. Kind of a neat concept that doesn't really go anywhere or serve any purpose.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 starsOverall, I found the film to be decent - not necessarily bad, but with its fair share of ups and downs. The storyline occasionally veered into the realm of the absurd, which could be a bit jarring at times. At the end of the day, while it may not be a cinematic masterpiece, it's still worth a watch, if only to get another dose of Timothée Chalamet on screen. However, it's not the type of movie that I would find myself revisiting frequently. It's more suited for a one-time viewing, perhaps as background entertainment while doing chores like vacuuming or during a casual TV session.
- Rating: 2.5 out of 5 starsA movie that deals with a little bit of everything. Bonds between siblings, people fearing with what they don't understand, helicopter parents, and do the kids super powers affect their mother seizures..... A very interesting movie nevertheless.
- Rating: 2 out of 5 starsGreat leads in Shipka and the stunning Chalamet, but promising plot turned to dust.
- Rating: 2.5 out of 5 starsI love the style and feel of the film, along with great performances by the young leads, but halfway through, it just never answered any of the questions it seemed to rely on so heavily to move the film forward, and that cryptic teasing carrot leading me on became an annoying trick, just like at the greyhound racetrack. I like mysteries and things left unanswered, but if that's all you seem to have is unanswered questions, it loses its charm and appeal after awhile. There wasn't much character development or emotional connection.
- Rating: 3.5 out of 5 starsOne & Two is a hypnotic drama about teleporting teens, eventhough the acting isn't all that great.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 starsJumper: There and back again. There are plenty of similar themes, but 'Jumper' will be the first anyone can remember. Its not a time travel theme, but a space travel film. Don't assume the outer space, very much in our Earth's atmosphere space travel like a supernatural. This is a slow fantasy-drama about two teen siblings who are living in an isolated location and their inherited ability to cheat space within their sight. What goes wrong when they just want to play with it, but it's forbidden by their strict father is the rest of the story. It is a weakest writing for a movie that borrowed an idea from the others. Failed to capitalise and falls into an average list. There is no particular performance to point out, but Kiernan Shipka is who had more screenspace and was decent with her show. There's nothing much to talk about the movie, the dialogues were very rare and too short. A simple drama, mostly boring for its uninteresting under developed scenes. Surely a watchable movie, but does it worth spending your time? I don't think so, thankfully it was not the worst film I've ever seen. 6/10
- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars"No sir, don't llke it."
- Rating: 2 out of 5 starsIn its favor, the film is shot with a dreamlike atmosphere reminiscent of Terrence Malick. The problem is that the story never makes much sense and is too esoteric that it really doesn't connect with anyone.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 starsBeautiful cinematography and artful narrative that lets the viewer guess at how the siblings' power works.
