This is a fun movie. With, of course, a magical theme. During the first watch, I was more focused on the father (which I found kinda annoying), than the two brothers themselves. Thinking it was the whole subject of the movie, to get him back for one day. But I was wrong! It's about the journey of two brothers. They are both not accepted by society well. Which could be related by their father's early passing. It may take some time, but together they find their way to get the best out of each other. The end battle did give me some Indiana Jones feeling to it. It didn't matter if they were there or not. The fountain would be demolished either way. But without them, the enemy presumably wouldn't be destroyed. After the battle it had a beautiful moment with the father, but from a point we don't exactly know what was said to the older brother. A movie I would come back to, and rewatch it again.

The concept is pretty cool though I wish it was explored further. The two main character arcs are pretty well-paced and decently well-written. The story feels a little flat elsewhere but it has enough going for it.

I don't have that much to say about this Pixar movie. It is okay. 5/10.

It has an inventive premise that melds teen angst and grief with an exciting world of magic inside an already magical, catchy setting, it is engaging throughout, particularly suspenseful at times and occasionally downright hilarious, and it features very strong performances (Pratt and Spencer arguably steal the limelight) and of course great animation. The finale is very moving too in a profoundly effective way that screams Pixar; the characters grow/unfold, and that's the film's ultimate focus.
