Our Little Secret

Under the shiny Netflix-feature-film-budget gift wrapping, you won’t find much in Our Little Secret to feel grateful for.

A typically formulaic seasonal sugar rush that’s only blandly mediocre, rather than so-bad-it’s-good. But Lindsay Lohan’s romcom-dominance cannot be denied.  

It inspires no emotional investment, it has no interesting characters, offers zero chemistry between the stars and not the slightest bit of a reason to be anything but bored.

While “Our Little Secret” is a decent movie -- undoubtedly the best of Lohan’s three Netflix films -- it’s only a sizzle reel compared to what she could do next.

The plot vaccums up all the other characters’ secrets, then spews them out in a Christmas-as-disaster climax. It’s all spanked along by one of those golly-gee bumptious holiday musical scores.

Lohan and Harding are decent enough at the bantering -- the latter has a Seth MacFarlane-esque elasticity that really works here -- but the script, from first-time writer Hailey DeDominicis, isn’t smart or inventive enough to really stretch them.

There are multiple opportunities to turn everyone on screen into a caricature, but [the]...direction and [the] script fight this off, relying entirely on the comedic chops and natural charisma of its lead actress. [Full review in Spanish]

Yet another terrible holiday Netflix movie, this time with the creepy teacher from "Pretty Little Liars."

It’s not the screwiest of screwball comedy complications. Instead it’s lame, tame and dated.

Lindsey Lohan is back and here is another Christmas rom-com to prove it.
