This is the second worst movie I have ever watched after Satanic (2016). What makes it special is that this is the only movie I had ever stopped playing and threw into the trash. It was unbearable, the jokes aimed for a brainless audience, even the acting feels terrible (I don't know whether the acting was forced that way intentionally). This movie doesn't deserve a second chance, it surprises me there is people who actually liked it.

I really liked this movie and im surprised that it had such a poor reception. A feel good movie which proves to be funny and infers strongly about issues which are relevant to this day and age.

Story/Screenplay: (3.5/5) Aside from several minutes of dopey content towards the end, this story had its fair share of funny moments. Not great, but fun. Duration/Tempo: (3.5/5) At 1 hour and 45 minutes, it's an average length movie that felt about the same. Well paced for a comedy. Cast & Crew: (4.5/5) An excellent performance from Billy Crystal, with strong performances from Bette Midler, Marisa Tomei, and Bailee Madison. Summary: (3.5/5) The story was good, the cast was excellent, and the film didn't feel long. A thumbs up.

'Parental Guidance' drags. It's very much a one-man band as the amusing Billy Crystal stops this from dropping to deeply low depths, he has a decent amount of good gags and is full of sharp wit. Bette Midler is a (not so) close second, she bounces off Crystal's comedy well. All of the cast that play their family are entirely forgettable, almost annoying in fact. The premise, though it may conclude with a truckload of heart, is boring. It's a tale we've all seen before and it doesn't really add anything different in that regard. It does, to be fair, at least end with a positive meaning which you can't help but appreciate. Unfortunately, all in all, this fails to the hit correct spot with me.

A charming little family comedy that's held up for almost 10 years.
