Passengers
audience Reviews
, 63% Audience Score- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsDespite what the rotten tomato’s low score says, this movie is fantastic, futuristic, and a reminder to humanity of what our purpose should be, extending the life of civilisation and future generations. The story is a fantastic bonus to that reminder.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsNew sci-fi concept with complete structure that works well within the cinematic restrictions. Actors show good chemistry and characters have depth.
- Rating: 0.5 out of 5 starsThis movie is f-----g dumb. Not nearly enough scifi, space-iness, or mystery. Guy gets lonely and sends a woman to die with him. He could have woken up an engineer, someone else with skills to help get to the crew. Nope, just "she's pretty!" And then the one Black dude shows up to save everyone else, just to immediately die. Romanticizes absolutely awful behavior. She should have [redacted] him. I'm very tired of this movie.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsMust see for anyone who is interested in human beings more than sh*t blowing up or someone solving a gruesome murder… Clearly i am a bit jaded about current TV or movie selections. Anywho - this film made me FEEL something about the characters and the situation they find them selves in. It made me think about human nature and why people are driven to do things they know are wrong but feel completely compelled to do anyway. For the people that said it was too slow - go watch a freaking action movie for gods sake and let us have one character study piece please. And yes - the man in this movie makes a terrible decision but please allow the idea that when you love another human you have the capacity to forgive. That’s the story of this movie - flawed humans making bad choices but understanding it and trying to make amends. And another human forgiving them and letting love win. Too few movies about this so for those that rated this low - it’s no surprise. But hey - there’s always the TV show Tires - possibly the worst and dumbest show ever but really well rated . Figures…
- Rating: 3.5 out of 5 starsJudge for yourself. This movie has an interesting premise, great visuals and performances. The action-driven climax seems forced and the ending sweetish but otherwise I appreciate this movie as a solid sci-fi drama with adult ethical themes.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsAmazing messages and well executed forced the constraints of the situation. And the acting - standing ovation. How this movie wasn’t at the top of everything and didn’t take home numerous awards is beyond me.
- Rating: 3.5 out of 5 starsI really wonder what these critics are rating at times. An interesting idea for a film posing the moral question to the viewer of what they would do in the same position. Lawrence and Pratt have a good on screen chemistry which they'd need to as its basically the two of them carrying this film. But they do very well in acting out the emotions of their characters situations I feel also. And with just Sheen dropping in every so often as the robotic bartender for Lawrence and Pratt to play off I think the film is impressive because of the lack of cast yet keeps you interested. The special effects and sets are also very good.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 starsI loved the movie, even though Chris Pratt's character was extremely selfish. If he didn't do what he did, though, it wouldn't have turned out the way he did, so basically his selfishness saved everyone. Also, if they want to have a sequel, the characters need to have a child, who views all of the other passenger's profiles and goes to sleep in the medical pod at close to their favorite passenger's age after learning all they can from their parents and see what happens.
- Rating: 1.5 out of 5 starsVisually the movie is appealing. The set design is fine and the effects are not distracting. The most redeeming quality is that both actors are at their prime attractiveness. Other than that there's not much to recommend. If you attempt to watch this movie using and sense of logic or reasoning, you will end up just being infuriated. This is not truly science fiction. It's a contrived stalker or creep's fantasy romance - in Space!
- Rating: 3.5 out of 5 starsI thought it was a fun movie Thought Jennifer and Chris Made a cute Couple. I enjoyed it.
