Past Lives

I mean I watched it and I did feel a little sad at the end but not really what I would consider a good movie for my taste.

Past Lives is an utterly beautiful and original story. It's also well-directed and shot. The story is can really connect with audiences, it is extremely beautiful and emotional. The dialogues are good, but the movie shows the characters' journey visually too, which is rare and valueable in a romantic movie. All credits go to the amazing writer-director Celine Song. The cinematography served character and story very beautifully in some scenes, which made me extremely happy as a film enthusiast. The direction with it was also very stylish and slow. The pacing is absolutely perfect, which praises the editing. The acting was also on point by the whole cast. Past Lives is a must watch movie for people who love romantic dramas.

The theme and the idea behind expats and sacrifices is well, but the final part or the climax really ruined it. The execution was too artsy and less realistic, and impractical for two acquaintances of the modern era where technology is so prevalent

It has its moments but it isn't entertain me as a whole. 6.3/10

A very romantic and sad movie. Felt a little slow. But the moments of this movie you will feel it.

I like A24 movies because they focus on telling a good story instead of trying to be flashy with CGI or a bunch of big named actors. They also have endings you may not expect which I think is great. The only issue for me personally was the pace. But other than that it was really good.

Past Lives explores the "what would've happened" idea for 2 young lovers in Korea. When they find each other online and she's married in NYC to a Jewish writer, his visit shakes things up in a mature way.

Compelling movie based on semi-autobiographical story of writer/director Celine Soon. Na Young’s journey and transformation from as a pre-teen in South Korea to a married NewYorker has such a natural and authentic feel, that it is no wonder it finds it truth in some part of Celine Soon’s own life. Acting is exceptional too.
