This was well-acted but plot was a bit long and amorphous for my taste.

Juan Preciado goes back to his father hometown to confront him about abandoning him and his mother only to find out that he’s no longer living and the town is deserted. Based on hit novel by Mexican writer Juan Rulfo. The story is all over the place crime line wise and is really weird. The ending was really bad 🍿🍿/5 on Netflix

Rodrigo Prieto traer a la vida el surrealismo de Comala con un literalismo inesperado, con pocas pero no sutiles libertades creativas lleva la magia de Rulfo mas allá de lo escrito haciendo de esta obra una narrativa propia, algunas actuaciones merecen nuestros aplausos mientras que otras simplemente cumplen con sus diálogos sin darlos la verdadera esencia de los personajes.

Me agradó de sobremanera la forma en que logran contar la historia con varias voces en off, o sea son muertos que siguen hablando del pasado y del presente...lo que la hace única y memorable. Es como si nos invitaran a escuchar un coro de memorias superpuestas.

Es una película, se tiene que criticar como tal, las comparaciones con el libro están de más , es una gran película basada en un libro, la fotografía está buenísima. Los actores (casi todos) hicieron un gran trabajo.

I really respect the attempt here to try a straightforward adaptation of a novel that's basically impossible to adapt. Some things work (it really leans into the nonlinear narrative) and others don't fully succeed but it's ultimately an admirable piece of work.

A Ghostly Tale With Minimal Scares. Netflix’s latest horror outing boasts gorgeous cinematography and stellar performances, but still leaves the viewer wanting more.

Awful. A movie that jumped around alot and went nowhere. Don't waste your time.
