The ratcheting tension is sadly punctured by unintentionally hilarious scenes...

I got caught up in it. I think it's a gimmick in many ways... but it works in this format, and it's kind of compelling.

It really pulled me in. I was into this film.

Profile's formal brilliance also one of its near-fatal limitations: Just because our world is now entirely online doesn't mean that reality is actually there, too.

Is it a great movie? No, but it's something rare in any medium, film or otherwise: a work in which form really is content.

"Profile" works on several levels - as a cinematic feat, dual character study, gripping thriller ... and as a cautionary tale.

The tension is built really well but as it’s coming to a crescendo, the movie just ends, which prevents Profile from achieving the instant modern classic moniker it so nearly has in its grasp.

A Scary must see thriller

The biggest key to the film's success is that creeping around the edges of the exploitation thriller is a sly comment on our increasingly digital lives... It's a devious move, one that feels just right for a film this diabolically slick and well-crafted.

An intense film that gets more and more frustrating as it goes on, but you just can't look away.
