Paradoxically this is far better than it has any right to be. It is quite slickly shot and well-paced with quite expensive looking practical effects. Even more surprisingly, it has LIKEABLE protagonists, decent dialogue and passable humour to boot. Really very solidly above average in every respect.

I guess I get why this got a poor viewer rating, but the critic rating is a more accurate score for this film in my opinion. The subject matter is offensive, and thats obviously the point. I think that there are plenty of tasteless films out there that try to build on the same concept, but have no redeeming qualities. The low blows are a big part of what makes this a worthwhile watch. Technically, its beautiful. The puppetry and practical effects are great. The acting is bad at times, but it seems intentional so that you don't forget what you are watching. I don't think I am alone when I say that I am really sick of overdone computer generated effects that fail to elevate the film and often become the main focus. Here, we have an abundance of carnage, done the good old fashioned way. You might not be into splatter-fests, and I understand if the plot is too distasteful, but when it comes down to it, this is a really well rounded extreme horror comedy that delivers all it promises and more. You will probably know if this isn't for you by reading the title.

Every once in a while you come across a movie that may surprise you. Right now, that movie for me is Puppet Master Littlest Reich. I went into this movie expecting, well, I went in with no expectations of enjoying it. But, it was decent. To the point I'm kind of excited for more Puppet Master movies. Unpolished, yet newer without any of the genius of the originals. There’s blood when there is some with a sad Indy feel.

Though it lost me sometimes during the movie the overall product is inventive, gory fun. The puppets have never been more menacing. In all honesty, I enjoyed this one more than the original 1989 outing.

Unapologetic ‘Puppet Master: The Littlest Reich' Delivers Bonkers Gore and Offensive Humor!

I went with 1 star for this movie, I didn't care for it. More modern then the movies of the past, poor acting and boring story. I only watched it once and that's all I don't think that I will watch again. A sad sack boring man falls in love with a friends sister and they go to the Toulon memorial thing of the movies past. The puppets kill people like in the movies past. This movie has a lot of sex and nudity, small talk boring at times and slow spoiler alert it leaves off on a to be continued. I can't sit through another PM movie 1 star.

If you aren't familiar with the original Puppet Master films and are just looking for a gore flick then you may enjoy this film. I was not expecting the puppets to suddenly be Nazis and Toulon himself to be a Nazi... In the originals Toulon used the puppets to flee the Nazis. I get that it's a reboot, but it's just not for me. The puppets have no personality. The effects were pretty good and I appreciate that they used practical effects over cgi mostly. All the characters seemed empty and the dialogue was just there to interrupt the organ splattering. I'll take the old films over this without a doubt. They have much more charm.

Ehhhh, it wouldn't have taken much to live up to the simple premise that got me amped to watch it. Sadly, it's just not that enjoyable aside from a few cheesy moments.
