Queen Mimi

, 74% Audience Score- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsWhen a story can put tears in your eyes while you're smiling it's a winner! While there are moments of sadness, this isn't a sad story. It's a story of resilience, of human kindness, and this wonderful personality - Queen Mimi. Hats off to all the kind people, but especially Stan. You did what most people wouldn't do and you're acts of kindness were the biggest of all. Many business owners would not have allowed that and it's so special that for all those years you listened to your heart.
- Rating: 2 out of 5 starsI was frustrated by the end. No clear answer as to why the family connection was broken so long ago. Why did she choose to be homeless? How was she left penniless after a divorce? I didn't understand the attraction movie stars had to her either. I did not find her a particularly interesting person. The hero of this story was the owner of the laundromat, Stan Fox, in my opinion.
- Rating: 4.5 out of 5 starsLoved this documentary! I can not help but think of the thousands who are out there on the streets. Perhaps with no one to love them, little food or shelter. It is gut wrenching to know folks suffer as they do. It was an inspiring film. Mimi was inspiring and at the same time deeply human and flawed as we all are. I wish Mimi the very best in her life and all the other countless Mimi's in the world.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsI loved watching this documentary. It's one of those films that make you think, but not too hard - just sit back and enjoy the entertainment. I think one doesn't have to wonder further than the liquor bottle to know why she ended up on the streets, but I do understand how that can happen as I have a sister-in-law that did the exact same thing. We have no idea if she's alive or dead to this day and she NEVER reaches out to find out if her daughter is alive, dead or whatever. Mimi's obviously an alcoholic that either can't or chooses not to become sober. I see this was filmed a couple of years ago and wonder where she is now; still alive; etc.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 starsMimi just showed us how to make the best out of life, with her spirit and love. A must see film when you think life is hard...
- Rating: 3.5 out of 5 starsThis is a very sweet, genuine documentary. Watch it.
- Rating: 2.5 out of 5 starsMimi is a unique type of homeless person that is not crippled with mental disorders or substance abuse. I liked that they but a spotlight on an empathic person for this issue but I still don't know why she chose to be homeless or why so many notable people wanted to help her out. Other than being a fixture in a wealthy location I don't get the notoriety.
