This is a fantastic documentary about a very brave individual. I found it almost unbearable to watch at times - my heart in my mouth. Beautiful, touching, thought-provoking, upsetting. I found the scenes between him and his family difficult - Gena's grandparents don't understand Gena, they can't really accept how Gena is, they can't keep their negative opinions to themselves - and yet, at the same time, they still love Gena, still want to see Gena, still want to support Gena, even though they often hurt Gena - they don't abandon Gena. That might not be high praise but they all keep loving each other in spite of how hard it is.

Heart rendering story of bravery and liberation against all odds. Best documentary I've seen in ages.
