Red Right Hand
audience Reviews
, 70% Audience Score- Rating: 1 out of 5 starsI used to trust the audience rating over the critics but this movie changed that for me. Now I know it's better to weigh the quality of the reviews over the scores. Right off the bat, you get that hollow gut feeling about this movie when you hear the corny piano music playing over the fake southern drawl. And it just keeps getting worse from there. Orlando Bloom and Andie McDowell sink low in their cliche characters while everyone else fall even lower. Much lower. This is a thinly written, badly directed, poorly shot and hastily edited gory revenge tale of a farm family brutalized by the big bad drug queen. And while we're at it, why not throw in some down to earth "churchin" too for good measure? Give me a break. It's another Hollywood claim that it understands the plight of the heartland and the struggle of the dumb hayseeds as they try to make it in a corrupt world. You can just picture the gluten free vegan lunch breaks and the slick chit chats between the unconvincing gun fights. Spare yourself two hours of your humanity and watch a blade of grass grow instead. You'll be more fulfilled.
- Rating: 2 out of 5 starsThe plot feels like a familiar one, except for a couple minor tweaks. That makes it more important for things to standout and separate it from the pack. The tweaks didn’t really do that. Female crime bosses, in general, are a plot device that does not work for me. I don’t usually use this word, because it seems like a copout, but this was just... boring, for the first hour. The graphic violence does escalate in the second half and saves this from going straight to the rubbish. If one can make it through the first half, it might be worth a watch.

- Rating: 1.5 out of 5 starsEither you do a story based in reality-mood or you do a backwoods horror flick, but you do not change style halfway through. At least Bloom delivers. Bloom looks like he could easily play the next Wolverine.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsOrlando Bloom is so underrated. Really a great movie that draws you in and has such great acting that you are watching every word spoken. Truly a great watch. Absolutely recommend.
- Rating: 2 out of 5 starsOne of those movies where it would be better off as a mini series to really flesh out the characters that are far more interesting then it should be.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsGood movie if you like action.
