Don’t Go Into This Expecting Horror — You’ll Be Disappointed Do not go into this movie thinking it’s a horror film — it’s not. Despite any marketing or promotional suggestions, this film lacks fear, tension, and any of the disturbing visuals or psychological weight that define the genre. The only scary thing here is how much the film relies on the viewer’s imagination to create the horror that it refuses to show. From start to finish, this is a slow, uneventful movie. There's no twist, no big reveal, and very little payoff for all the buildup. The protagonist, who we follow for the entire runtime, is emotionless — not in a mysterious or unsettling way, but simply dull. And when the film eventually confirms what we already know, she’s a sociopath, it feels like a non-event rather than a revelation. Much of the film’s energy goes into describing the brutality of the murders, but when it comes time to show anything, the movie pulls back entirely. No visuals, no disturbing imagery — just screams and the sound of machinery. It leaves all the work to the viewer's imagination, not as a creative decision, but more as a shortcut. This film ends up being incredibly disappointing. It lacks substance, stakes, and emotional weight. If you're a fan of crime thrillers or slow-burn dramas, you might find something here to appreciate. But if you’re a horror fan who enjoys impactful twists, haunting stories that linger, or even just a compelling narrative worth discussing — this movie won’t deliver.

Really incredible movie. One that holds your interest the entire time and as the story winds down, it is completely unpredictable. Very little is revealed about the main character so you have no idea what she'll do next. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. Not every question gets answered by the end but you'll be thinking about it for a while.

Meh... not bad I guess but not great either. It's such a shame as they could've used this as a real opportunity to dive a little bit deeper into the characters, storyline and just exactly how victims end up in these places on the dark web. The storyline is interesting, a successful model by day who becomes obsessed with a serial killer and by night is an intelligent internet hacker, surfing the dark web desperate to expose the serial killer and the truth. But there was no substance to it, it was a slow burn, almost boring. It would've been interesting to see HOW she found the websites and raise awareness about these horrible websites and human trafficking etc. But it was very bland with a few intense/interesting parts. All in all, a great opportunity lost 👎🏻 Please leave crime dramas/thrillers in the hands of the Scandinavians, they do it best.

A model as well as a computer hacker, Kelly-Anne (Juliette Gariépy) becomes obsessed with the trial of an accused red room killer. Very intense film portraying obsession balanced by two women who have opposing positions on the trial. One a fan of the accused, one determined to prove he's guilty. Gariepy is magnetic as a character we find unknown and familiar. I never did decipher what her motivation was.

With subject matter as dark as its possible to get half of me wishes I had never watched this. The other half marvelled at the performances of the actors and the parade of grotesque characters. A twisted film of undeniable power.

Hypnotic and deeply unsettling. More of a dark drama thriller than a full-blown horror movie, but it nonetheless manages to be pretty disturbing and creepy.

I just don't get it. What's the point? If there is no point, why the movie? Perverted torture and snuff videos exist and are accessible on the so-called dark web? check. People watch them for reasons that, in some cases, are hard to learn or to understand? check. If this is a "thriller," sorry but there are no thrills. If it's a psychological quest, it goes nowhere and learns nothing. If it's some kind of arty movie that the author "just needed to make," then he can have it; why should I watch it? I just didn't get it.

I really didn't understand the point of this movie at all, and a lot of things that happened weren't clear.

Disturbing and mostly enjoyable movie. This is a French Canadian movie that follows a woman who becomes obsessed with the trial of a serial killer. There is a lot of mystery as it leaves vague her motives or exactly why she is obsessed. This obsession leads to troubling outcomes. The plot is a bit slow and requires attention so not a casual watch by any means but it is entertaining just because of the originality of the story.
