Reprisal

A blandly gritty piece of late-August mayhem that's as forgettable as its generic title.

"Reprisal" is not a very good movie, but it leaves you with tantalizing hints that some people involved with it are capable of doing something much better.

Through it all, Willis looks like he's late to cash his check.

"Reprisal" would have once filled out a lonely shelf at a Blockbuster, the ideal home for its sedate performances and visually hectic action.

If Bruce Willis isn't careful, he may soon be hit by a class-action lawsuit.

Seeing Bruce Willis in the movies these days is damn embarrassing.

The out-of-time iconography, decades-straddling style, and anywhere USA setting invite the audience to relish Reprisal's pulp ethos and appreciate the twists and turns of the ride as Doris unleashes chaos.

Thoroughly uninspired and laughably incoherent, this low-budget parade of cops-and-robbers clichés is an embarrassment for all involved.

"These people have been through enough," says a character in the film's final minutes, and you can't help but think he's talking about the audience.

Dopey and dull.
