- Rating: 3.5 out of 5 starsI am a huge fan of the Rocky Franchise. It is my favorite film franchise of all time. As a fan there are some things I love about this film, and other things that really bug me. Starting with the name of the movie, it should have been called "Rocky VI". But this definitely felt like Stallone trying to undo as much as he could from the previous entry. This also marks the first Rocky sequel that does not begin by showing the ending of the previous film. Which is a tradition I am sad to see go. This movie does introduce Milo Ventimiglia as Rocky Jr., which is perfect casting. This movie has, what has now become Rocky's most famous quote in the "It’s not how hard you hit but how hard you can get hit..." monologue. And I enjoy the fact that they give some scenes to the champ, Mason Dixon, to show he isn't just a villain. He's not Rocky's most memorable opponent, but I credit them for trying something new with the antagonist. The negative side is that this film treads far too much of the same ground of the first film. I love the previous films as much as the next guy, but this film seems to borrow too much from them. The action and training montages are still great, and Stallone still hits hard as a dramatic actor. Not my favorite of the franchise, but Rocky is still a champion to me.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsI love all the Rocky movies but I think this has to be my favourite. While they're all brilliant this one seems to have more of a feel good vibe to it with some powerful messaging. Less about Rocky beating the bad guy and more about him coming to grips with his life after boxing. Hands down one of Stallone's best performances.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsRated PG for Some Language, and Boxing Violence. 1 hour and 42 minutes of Rocky Balboa losing his final fight, in memory of Burt Young!!!!!!!!
- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsEVEN AT 60 YEARS OLD, Stallone gives it his all and rocks it
- Rating: 4 out of 5 starsI cant deschribe this movie at all but good film
- Rating: 4.5 out of 5 starsStallone couldn’t end the series with Rocky 5. This was a great return and fair play to Stallone for doing what he did at that age. A great film and I loved the nostalgia without overdoing it.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars“It ain’t how hard yuh hit…”
- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsOf course, the idea that an old man who goes to the fighting ring and tries to prove something to someone is rather dubious, but thanks to the amazing production, the film acquired meat. Excellent motivational monologues by Sylvester, an effective climactic final fight, Rocky's entourage, music, drama, in general, everything was at the highest level. Well, the main phrase of the film is that the words "too late" were invented by weaklings. In general, Rocky Balbo allowed Stallone to return to the Hollywood Olympus again. And the new sequel "Creed Rocky's Legacy", released 9 years later, only reinforced all this. The franchise was able to reach a new level and did not turn into a routine irritant, for which they have great respect. So the mistakes were corrected and I was completely delighted.
