Terrible just everything about it was unbelievably poorly done. I couldn’t turn it off maybe bc I was in shock of how awful it was.

there were some fairly good bits, some okay bits, but the ridiculous bits lost it one star.

This movie is the reason I began reviewing movies. To save movie lovers the trouble of discovering what a disappointment some movies can be and pointing them in the direction of great movies. It was absolutely the most slow burning movie I’ve ever seen. to think a movie that was released in 2021 with some great actors was this horrible is crazy. Usually when I see a well known actor I give the movie a shot, but I should have came on here and seen the dozens of horrible reviews and saved myself 1 and half hours of pain. I don’t understand how Tyrese had multiple chances to grab the gun and put this guy out of his misery but yet continued to get beat up. And then the characters dying and coming back to life everything in this was highly confusing. This movie was literally a script written out of boredom and the budget must have been spent all on the three main characters because other than them being in this no one would have probably gave it a chance this is a tubi movie mixed in with clickbait actors. Definitely one of the worst movies I’ve seen in a long time. I don’t know how I watched it to end l, maybe hoping that it would get better but I swear I could have recorded this movie off my iPhone and edited it in a weekend.

Kind of slow moving. It was ok, but I will never understand why people chat instead of just putting a bullet in their head right when you get the drop. I am shooting you immediately..no talk. It was ok, but definitely not great.

The acting was pathetic. The story SLOOOOW. Seriously wondering why John Malkovich accepted this role.

I had high hopes for this movie with several quality actors starring, but I am so disappointed with the script, directing and plot of this movie. The acting from the well-known stars was okay as it appears that they didn't have much to work with. I do not blame the actors. However, the other unknowns, should remain unknowns as the acting was horrible. I am wondering if the script was created by AI or someone who has no idea how to develop plots. There were many points in the movie that didn't make sense and assumed the audience was not paying attention.
The antagonist's motivations were not clearly developed to show why he was so determined to destroy the congressman. The congressman's role and character was incredibly flat. They tried to develop Kyle's character with flashbacks and gave a somewhat decent explanation for his PTSD. But again, the audience doesn't have time to develop empathy for any of the characters. The hostage situation was absolutely ridiculous. Characters making stupid comments and decisions, forgetting about characters that were already supposed to be dead or severely injured came back to life…really??? The fact that Sunshine hit the silent alarm way at the beginning of the break in, and the police were supposedly outside, yet no one knew that! There was no scene showing the police until the very end, and no hostage negotiator or officer attempting to contact the criminal inside. Nothing about what was happening on the outside or the news regarding the situation and information that was emailed to the press. Totally unrealistic and assumes that the audience is stupid. I felt this movie was an insult to viewers and a complete waste of time. The only reason I kept watching was because of Tyrese and the other three recognizable actors.
However, I did not think it was appropriate for the congressman and Sunshine's wife to leave that little boy! Totally out of character for how their characters were portrayed throughout the movie. As well, the attitude of the congressman at the end, his sarcasm and ugly attitude after everything he just experienced, most people would have been humbled. It didn't make sense for him to act like that and then deserve Kyle's forgiveness. Ridiculous! Humans do not typically behave that way in the midst of tragedy and especially if the character wasn't initially depicted as that type of person. It was as if the writer couldn't decide whether the Congressman was an asshole or a compassionate person. At the beginning it was assumed that he was an asshole, but yet he has that moment with Kyle. Then at the store, he also shows compassion for his granddaughter and his employees. Then he's an asshole at the end. Choose!
I typically do not write reviews like this but this movie was so bad and so insulting to my intelligence that I had to write. As well, this is not the only movie since the pandemic that has been incredibly awful. I don't know what's going on in Hollywood, but, please get back to making quality films with quality writing!
Also noted was the complete absence of mood music, lighting, and camera angles, these elements are crucial for setting the scene and moving the audience to infer and interpret scenes and unspoken meanings and character emotions.
These are just my two cents.

At the start when we're supposed to be getting to know the main character, we get subtitles and flashbacks. This guy is combat damaged, with lots of confused feelings, but we move on to the hostage scene with indifference and, guess what, it's a supermarket with pink lighting! Annoyingly, the script requires the cast to make little speeches from time to time to let the viewer know what they are thinking. Then there's the un-special effect, which verge on sillyness. For example, at the end there's an explosion, where a pile of empty cardboard box's lean against our hero a bit before they fall on him. I ask you, is this the best they could do? I did not like this movie at all.

Maybe the worst movie I've ever seen. Terrible acting, one plot cliché after another, incoherent but predictable plot, you name it. Words are inadequate to describe its awfulness. John Malkovich's shame.

Revenge in a Dollar General. How did they get Malkovich and Tyrese to sign off for this terrible script. Tyrese plays a PTSD ridden soldier that gets caught in an angry, hostage taking shuffle. Terrible.
