Not even the cultural specificity or inspired creature work can distract from the familiar possession horror trappings here, but it’s also an inoffensive horror effort all around.

Toubia should be commended not only for her acting abilities, but for meeting all the physical demands placed on her as she tangles with demons. Vargas is an exciting new voice in horror.

Toubia’s mix of fear and plucky determination is perfectly modulated. Sometimes she’s funny, sometimes she’s serious.

A spirited little horror film throws up a stormy mix to keep eyes rolling and maybe glued to the big screen for its entire 90-minute excursion into the supernatural and still leaves room for a sequel.

Rosario is suitable and spooky if also underwhelming.

Rosario is a nasty, inventive little piece of supernatural fun with a healthy dose of gore.

It's a movie in search of an identity, and it never quite settles on one, delivering an experience that's equal parts creepy and disjointed.

It is just good enough to make me curious to see what Vargas does next but unless you are a complete newcomer to the genre, you have almost certainly seen everything that it has to offer done both before and better than what has been presented here.

At its worst, it is an unmemorable horror movie, but it is hard to be too upset when it only takes up a little over an hour.
