Although hard to follow along at some points, Rose Red is a great watch if you're a fan of Stephen King.

This wouldn't be my favorite adaptation of a Stephen King story. It feels a bit washed out and bland. The character of Emery Waterman is an absolute caricature and comes across as an irritation more than anything else. I would consider this to be a forgettable story. I have watched other haunted house movies with more of a drafty chill and scare than this one. Maybe I should read the written text it is based upon, as I might get more of an entertaining kick from it.

Rose Red captivates viewers with its chilling atmosphere, intense storytelling, and spine-tingling encounters. The miniseries pays tribute to Stephen King's supernatural mastery, providing a memorable and satisfying journey through the nightmarish halls of Rose Red.

I give it a few points for “made for tv” nostalgia. The effects are cheesy and didn't really age well, and I find myself bored with the dialogue at times. Some of the acting is poor. This miniseries is very drawn out! Clearly inspired by Shirley Jackson’s work and I appreciate that but it’s just too much.

Some special effects are a little cheesy but it was made for TV. Still one of my favorites. I recommend to anyone that enjoys Stephen King or Haunted House stories.

Suspenseful film showcased with exciting elements hidden throughout every corridor of this elegant Victorian mansion. The story provides a precise outline of the horrific events that took place on the property before the present day. This allows the audience to engage in the curiosity and unravel on how the house manifested to what it is today.

A classic. One of the best of the Steven King movies. Despite it being 4hrs long, I've seen this movie multiple times. It's such a great story and very well done... and I love that Steven King appears as a cameo in this film. So cool!
