Sanctuary
audience Reviews
, 84% Audience Score- Rating: 2 out of 5 starsIt's an extortion movie on the surface, but not in the fun, pulpy way -- more in the “why am I still watching this?” way. I like these actors a lot, and Margaret Qualley is usually a delightfully unhinged energy I’m down for. But here? It's just kind of annoying. The whole tone felt confused. Like the movie couldn't decide whether it wanted to be edgy, romantic, or purely odd. And I’m not blaming the actors; the performances were solid. It’s the directing and overall vibe that felt muddled. At some point, you've got to let the audience in on what’s real, and this film was way too stingy with the clarity. In the end, it just didn’t land. A real shame, because there’s real talent here, floating around in a movie that doesn’t seem to know what it's trying to be.
- Rating: 1 out of 5 starsDid not like Margaret's acting. Hated the concept of the movie.
- Rating: 1.5 out of 5 starsA little confusing with the real and pretending at times. The passion and chemistry were both lacking.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsThe romcom I didn't know I needed. Rebecca was so unhinged, i love her.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsBOOM SHAKALAKA YES GOD this is everything i've ever wanted actually.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 starsWell scripted, well acted movie. Kept my interest from beginning to end!
- Rating: 3.5 out of 5 starsOne location, two hander, what is part of the game and what is not.. Worth the watch for Margaret Qualley who is always great
- Rating: 4 out of 5 starsClever, twisty and very entertaining!
- Rating: 1 out of 5 starsIf the opening shot of a movie makes you roll your eyes, trust your gut instinct and reach for the remote. This movie is neither a love story nor a comedy. It's a cacophony of unrealistic and irrelevant pseudo cerebral arguments that bear no relation to real life. The only redeeming part of the story is that no one else has to deal with these two awful characters.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsQuick, exciting, funny. One twist after another. Great script, extremely well acted by both main chracters. If it weren't 2:30 AM, I'd watch it all over again right now! The only thing that was predictable was the last 5 minutes, but only if you understood every minute that went before that last 5.
