, 79% Audience Score- Rating: 4 out of 5 starsThis is exactly the kind of rom-com content I’m here for. It feels natural and familiar, but the dialogue is clever. It’s somehow both the usual formulaic stuff and also not; it feels human, but with a layer of artistry on top. Really well acted all around. I'm a big fan of this Cooper Raiff guy. Talented dude. Making it look easy.
- Rating: 1 out of 5 starsSayang oras. Kulang sa puso para maging coming out of age movie. Ok un mga pop culture references pero may kulang sa kabuuan. Kulang din sa star power. Mas ok sana kung may cameo man lang.
- Rating: 4.5 out of 5 starsExceptionally made drama about a homesick guy's first 2 years at an out of state college. Very talky. Similar to the movie "Before Sunrise". Loved it.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 starsWhat a emotion does this movie have, Cooper Raiff is instantely one of my favorite directors. This movie has it flaws, but the highs are insanely high. That phonecall with his mom, heartbroken. This movie feels so realistic, i think everybody who goes to college has some time like this, such a great movie.
- Rating: 3.5 out of 5 starsIt was better than I thought it was going to be. The title, and to some degree the description, led me to expects some stupid, college frat slapstick comedy. While there was a small bit of that stupid stuff, it was mostly about a distraught youth finding his way. Heartwarming, actually.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 starsYou rarely see movies that can touch human emotions on a basic level. I really enjoyed this movie, and related to a lot of parts. The movie has laughter, sadness, surprise everything. Everyone should watch this movie, even though not relatable, it will help one understand what humans go through in real lives.
- Rating: 4.5 out of 5 starsThis is a beautiful movie. It's so brutally honest and heartfelt. Shithouse lives and breathes through Cooper Raiff - director, writer, and star. Each scene is so carefully done and either gut wrenching or butterfly inducing. This movie transported me into these characters' college world so successfully I had a weird come down back to earth after watching it. To top it off - the soundtrack could not have been better. Amazing movie.
- Rating: 4.5 out of 5 starsGreat coming of age college story! Loved the cast, if you like more slow character building, intense in story films then this is for you! Would recommend to anyone who likes A24 & IFC style films
- Rating: 4 out of 5 starsThere's something beautiful about the simplicity of this movie. It seems like it'll be a college comedy about a frat house but instead it's a character study on two people who are struggling in different ways. The chemistry between the leads is fantastic and their dialogue is refreshingly realistic, as is where their relationship eventually goes.
- Rating: 4.5 out of 5 starsA lot of attention to detail and honesty. Most characters feeling very much like people I've met. Not exactly revolutionary, but very much on point. Extra quarter-star for how hard it must be to make a decent movie in this shithouse environment. 4.25/5
