Employing every known genre cliché while inventing some new ones, the blunt and to-the-point titled “Shrapnel” makes numerous unforced errors right out of the gate.

A dull vengeance thriller.

With a complete lack of interest in suspense or character, this dull action thriller consists almost entirely of shoot-outs between grim-faced heroes and utterly generic villains.

Brutally violent confrontations add some visceral intensity to this vigilante thriller, which otherwise is overwhelmed by narrative cliches.

Buoyed by Patric, who pushes to bring passably authentic emotions to an otherwise generic siege tale, giving as good a performance as one can possibly expect from a B-movie with limited storytelling goals.

A tedious, lethargic and forgettable bore.
