Silent Hill: Revelation
audience Reviews

- Rating: 3.5 out of 5 starsI don't understand why this film gets so much hate. Except maybe a bunch of angry gamer nerds living in Mom's basement are all besides themselves because it didn't live up to their fantasies. I found the film rather entertaining and it's cool seeing Pyramidhead as a protagonist... or at least antihero. The dark ambiance of the film and the effects were actually pretty good. Hope they follow the series up with a third sequel.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 starsWhile I was looking forward to the sequel filling in the gaps of the first movie I have to say it was a bit of a let down. I wish they would have taken more time to savor the horror aspects and characters, The story line seemed rushed and not well thought out.
- Rating: 1.5 out of 5 starsA major step-down from the first film, Silent Hill: Revelation suffers from a weaker plot, a subtle yet noticeable downgrade in visuals, lack of scares, continuity errors that, even if you aren't looking for them, are likely going to sense with certain developments at the very least having you think "this doesn't seem to jive with what was established in the 2006 film" and very obvious CGI. It does have some good points such as the lead actor's performance, Malcolm McDowell as a one-scene wonder, a suspenseful moment with a mannequin spider and a final battle with "so bad, it's good" appeal since, while not really bad, seems out of place with the rest of the film's tone. Say what you want about the 2006 film but at least it was consistent and didn't have the protagonist abruptly turn into Alice from the Resident Evil movies. While the first film was one of the better video game movies to come out at the time, this sequel drops the ball hard. Be careful what you wish for, Silent Hill fans who wanted a more faithful film adaptation over Christophe Gans' approach of borrowing enough elements from the games to justify the title whilst still doing its own thing to prevent people unfamiliar with the original IP from suffering continuity lockout. Though admittedly, this film coming out when the Silent Hill games were suffering from declining popularity didn't help.
- Rating: 0.5 out of 5 starsÉ o pior filme que fizeram! Cag@ram com a franquia... Estragaram conceitos bons do primeiro filme. O que era o Cabeca de piramide num carrossel??? MDS que lixo
- Rating: 1.5 out of 5 starsWhere the first film went right, this one went terribly wrong. It rode off the success of the first but they didn't know what to do. Poorly written dialogue, and most of the first half is just re-explaining the events of the first film because of the bad plot writing.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 starsIf you watched the first you definitely should watch the second, but I just feel like there’s a lot more the producers could’ve done. It was just too fast and choppy and just jumped right into a random story line with no explanation, kind of a let down. I am however excited for the return this year!
- Rating: 2 out of 5 starsStoryline is good, but I really couldn't get spooked by this movie. The graphics were very much "CGI is new let's see what's passible & what isn't." I didn't feel the need to hide my eyes & the ominous feeling throughout the other movies wasn't present for this one.
- Rating: 1.5 out of 5 starsI mean, it went pretty fast and the random character design change was a little random. i'm not a critic but I believe the effects were pretty shitty compared to the first movie. i don't recommend it, I mean what happened to rose?? they never even cover that and where the fuck did these other people come from? it doesn't cover much, so it's hard to follow. anyway don't recommend !! justice for rose
- Rating: 3.5 out of 5 starsI think the story and detail are impressive and it goes well with the first movie. It's a decent horror movie with a twisted storyline.
