Silent Zone is set in a post-apocalyptic world, ten years after a pandemic has turned people into savage, zombie-like creatures called ferals. The movie opens by introducing Abigail (Abby), who is around seven or eight years old when the outbreak occurs. She witnesses the brutal deaths of her mother and brother during a sudden feral attack but is saved by Cassius, a strong survivor who is likely a former police officer or army personnel. Ten years pass, and Abby and Cassius have formed a bond as they navigate the dangerous world together. They encounter a group of strangers who possess cars and weapons but are ultimately killed by a relentless band of ferals. Two individuals from this group survive: Megan, who is heavily pregnant, and David. Despite Cassius' initial reluctance as the typical "grumpy" post-apocalyptic hero, they decide to accompany Megan and David to a rumored safe haven called the Northeast Colony. This journey is fraught with danger as the intelligent ferals that wiped out David's group continue to pursue them. Along their journey, the group takes refuge in an abandoned house, surviving a feral attack thanks to Cassius' tripwires. They eventually decide to head to an abandoned airport, a place Abby remembers from her childhood with her pilot father, hoping to find a plane. They reach the airport without incident, and David works on fixing Abby's father's old hangar. However, the ferals catch up to them, and they narrowly escape in a plane, with Abby surprisingly recalling her flying skills. Due to the limited time for repairs, they are forced to crash-land shortly after takeoff. It is revealed to the audience that David has been bitten, a fact Cassius eventually realizes, leading to tension within the group, especially with a pregnant woman present. The group then stumbles upon a seemingly welcoming scientist named Norton, who lives in an isolated location and claims to know people from the Northeast Colony. Despite Cassius' suspicions, the group, especially with Megan's condition, has little choice but to stop. Norton provides them with food and drink, but soon reveals his sinister intentions, believing the apocalypse was necessary for human evolution. He drugs them and chains them in his basement, planning to conduct experiments to determine if they are infected using a device that emits dangerous frequencies for ferals. They discover Norton's wife is a feral being kept in the basement. David, already bitten, ultimately sacrifices himself to create a diversion, allowing Cassius, Megan, and Abby to escape Norton's trap and continue towards the Northeast Colony. The remaining group finally reaches the Northeast Colony, which is revealed to be a makeshift boat town called King's Harbor, run by a self-proclaimed king named George, who initially appears normal and welcoming. Tragically, Megan dies shortly after delivering her baby girl, a death foreshadowed by a previous conversation with Cassius. Their respite is short-lived as Norton arrives with his own army of ferals, seeking revenge and aiming to take over the boat town. Fortunately, a contingency plan exists: an underwater tunnel leading to the land, while the boat town is rigged with mines for destruction. They enact this plan, but not before Cassius confronts Norton and feeds him to the ferals. In a final twist, the leader of the feral army is revealed to be Abby's father. In a dramatic conclusion, Abby is forced to kill her own father to save Cassius. The movie ends with their survival, but leaves their future uncertain. Despite the title, one reviewer notes that the movie is mostly loud and chaotic. Some reviews praise the character development, particularly the bond between Cassius and Abby, and the performances of Matt Devere (Cassius) and Luca Papp (Abigail). The film is described as a survival horror that borrows elements from other zombie media like The Walking Dead, The Last of Us, 28 Days Later, and A Quiet Place. While some find the plot familiar and occasionally predictable, others appreciate the emotional core and tense moments.

Much better than any other Zombie movies and a great Australian make.

Almost watchable. Views like a higher-end fan-fiction movie. Story is ok, script is bland, acting is amateur, direction is obvious and unsubtle, poor special effect and makeup, fastest and best organized zombies, leaden fight and battle scenes. I hope it turns a profit.

Silent Zone stands out because of how much it focuses on atmosphere and isolation. Some might find it too slow, but for me, the slower moments allowed the tension to simmer effectively. Visually striking, with some memorable imagery, it left me thinking about the characters' choices long after the credits rolled. Not perfect, but definitely intriguing.

I went into Silent Zone expecting a straight-up horror, but it's actually more of a tense survival drama mixed with some solid action sequences. The film is intense and gritty, focusing heavily on characters pushed to their limits. The action scenes were well-executed and felt realistic—nothing over-the-top, just genuinely believable tension. The survival aspects kept me engaged, especially because the characters felt authentic and relatable. My only real criticism is that the pacing slows down noticeably in a few parts, losing a bit of momentum before picking back up. Overall, it's a solid, gripping watch that succeeds by emphasizing raw human drama rather than traditional horror scares.

I've seen a lot of zombie movies. Some of the best include Dawn of the Dead to Last Train to Busan. This is NOT a good film. No memorable characters. Undeveloped overall story. Typical story. A virus of some sort turns people into blood thirsty monsters. Our hero who is bland as milk rescues and raises a young girl. He teaches her how to fight. More happens but its boring and the villain... wow. Well don't waste your time.

Silent Zone (2025) The World After the Zombie Pandemic (11,564 – 25 Mar 2025 – by Claudio Carvalho) When there is a pandemic in the world, the infection turns people into zombies. The little girl Abby is fleeing with her mother and her little brother to the house of a relative to meet her father when a zombie attacks her mother and brother. A man named Cassius (Matt Devere) saves Abby from the zombies and brings the girl with him. Ten years later, Abigail (Luca Papp) has become a teenager skilled in survival, trained by her protector Cassius and they wander to survive. When they see a man attacked by a zombie, they are not capable to save him and Cassius warns Abigail to leave the area since a horde is coming. However, they are surprised by the man’s group and forced to fight the zombies. Only the pregnant Megan (Nikolett Barabas) and her mate David (Declan Hannigan) survive the attack and join Cassius and Abigail in the search of a sanctuary to stay. However, the path is dangerous, and Cassius promises Megan to take care of her baby in case she does not survive. “Silent Zone” (2025) is another movie about the world after the zombie pandemic. The plot of this Hungarian film is not bad, and despite the weak lead cast, entertains. The journey of the quartet of survivors is full of adventure. Luca Papp keeps the same expression on her face most of the time and Cassius is an obnoxious character and could be more empathic. My vote is seven. The zombies fx look realistic, but the lack of story behind the virus leaves you without explanation for their seemingly emotional presence. The fight choreography could’ve been a little tighter as some of it seems to lack authenticity. The scenery scores points at depicting a post apocalyptic overgrowth, but not quite as detailed as I am legend. There are things that make sense and others that don’t, but if you’re a zombie fan, it’s an above average low budget Z movie. Worth a watch.

It's quite a good life being a zombie. I've been one for nearly a year now. It's got a good social group and because my diet is high protein I can run very fast. Foodwise there's plenty of eat-all-you-can buffets but you have to look for them. The film was good and for a newbie in the film industry Papp did her role justice. I'm patiently waiting for 28 Years Later to come out in June.

Emotionally charged survival horror that hits harder than expected. This one really surprised me. Silent Zone may not have a blockbuster budget, but it makes the most of every frame. The atmosphere is raw and tense, the world feels lived-in and dangerous, and there’s a real emotional core thanks to the bond between Cassius and Abigail. Matt Devere absolutely carries the film—his performance is intense but subtle, and Luca Papp brings real heart to Abigail. Their dynamic gives the story more weight than your average zombie flick. The infected are creepy, but it’s the human moments that stick with you. Yes, you’ll recognize some of the genre beats, but it’s done with care and craft. Peter Deak directs with a steady hand, and you can feel the passion behind it. For fans of grounded, character-driven apocalyptic stories, this is a hidden gem. Hope more people discover it.
